I’ve never understood Swiss neutrality – often the moral thing to do is to get off that fence and take a side in order to fight evil.
The United States of America has many of them. Literal underground cities. Complete with shopping malls, gyms, schools, restaurant's, and many other things. Sadly no matter what part of the planet you're on. If you aren't extremely rich. You will be left outside to die. Only the elite will be allowed inside when it's needed.
I just left Switzerland after 15 years living there. I have to say I was quite surprised to hear the Swiss had agreed to put sanctions on Russia; I guess this may signal a change in Swiss mentality regarding their international relations. Switzerland is a truly amazing country, I sincerely hope they will not dilute or discard the values of neutrality and independence that made their country so unique, so respected and such an amazing place to live.

I don't understand how a country like Switzerland can just "declare" themselves neutral when they are surrounded by warring countries. I'm sure Ukraine would loved to have remained "neutral" too, but Russia had other plans when it invaded. I tend to think there is more to it than that. Like the fact that they may process and hold vast amounts of wealth from many countries. And any country choosing to declare war with them would likely have all of their (and their citizen's) assess frozen and not returned. Thus, any attempted invasion would be prohibitively costly. That's my guess. I still don't know how and where Switzerland gets all its wealth. I read about their big worldwide banks, skilled craftsmen, their pharmaceutical industry, yadda yadda. But that still doesn't account for it. I would guess they're probably pilfering investors money in all those banks without their knowledge. And if there was ever an actual run on the back, people with Swiss bank accounts would be lucky to withdraw anything.
