最近、マスターぴょんたが赤い目を潤ませて「旅に出たいぴょん」と訴えてくる。
かわいそうなので、一緒に宮古島に行くことにした。
オリオンツアーの「オリオンの日夕食パーティ」付きの2泊3日のプランである。
実に楽しみだ。
沖縄近くに台風が発生しているから一抹の不安はあったが、僕たちは羽田からJALに乗り、那覇空港で乗り換えて無事に宮古島に到着した。
レンタカー屋さんに空港に迎えに来てもらい、車を借りて僕たちはまず伊良部大橋を渡った。綺麗で快適な車。カーナビもばっちり。
長い美しい橋が、宮古本島から伊良部島の間のサファイアブルーの海に架かっている。僕たちはその橋をドライブし、橋を渡ったすぐそばにある「海の駅」で宮古そばのセットを食べた。レストランは２階にあり、美しい橋と海を見ることができた。
そのあと、僕たちは渡口の浜を少し歩いた。台風が来ているので、波がすごく高かったが、それでも白い砂浜に青い海が映えてとても綺麗だった。
下地島を走っていくと、通り池の駐車場に着いた。
車を降りると、信じられなくいらい暑い。木のトンネルは日影になっていて歩きやすかった。
辿りついた通り池は、大小２つの池が地下で繋がっている。
海にもつながっているらしい。
突然丸く開いたような２つの池は静かな深い水底を感じさせる色合いで満々と水を湛えていた。
あんまりにも暑かったので、もうホテルに行こう、ということになった。
伊良部大橋をもう一度渡って、そのすぐそばのホテルアトールエメラルド宮古島にチェックインした。部屋からは港が一望できた。
あんまりにも暑かったので、僕たちはホテルのプールでバシャバシャと泳ぎ、サンベッドに寝そべって暮れ行く海に浮かぶ伊良部大橋を眺めた。
部屋でシャワーを浴びてさっぱりして、自販機のオリオンビールで乾杯し、一休みしたあと、僕たちは晩御飯を食べようと街に出た。
たまたま入れた島唄ライブ居酒屋で、おいしい宮古島の料理をつまみながら、三線の演奏と華やかな歌声を堪能したのであった。実にいい時間だったよ。
旅に出たがっていたマスターぴょんたも、きっととってもリフレッシュできたと思うワン。

Recently, Master Pyota’s red eyes have been moistening and he has been complaining, “I want to go on a trip”.
I felt sorry for him, so we decided to go to Miyakojima Island together.
It was a 3-day/2-night plan with an “Orion Day Dinner Party” by Orion Tour.
We are so excited and looking forward to it.
We were a little anxious because a typhoon was brewing near Okinawa, but we took a JAL flight from Haneda, changed planes at Naha Airport, and arrived at Miyakojima without any incident or delay.
We were picked up by a staff of a car rental shop , rented a car that was clean and comfortable, and crossed the Irabu Bridge first. The car navigation system was perfect.
The long, beautiful bridge spans across the sapphire blue ocean between Miyako and Irabu Islands.
We drove across the bridge and ate a set of Miyako soba noodles at a restaurant locating just at the bridgehead.
The restaurant was on the second floor and had a beautiful view of the bridge and the ocean.
After that, we took a short walk along Toguchi beach.
Because of the typhoon, the waves were very high, but it was still beautiful to see the blue ocean on the white sand beach.
After driving through Shimoji Island, we arrived at the parking lot of “Tori-Ike (connected ponds)”.
When we got out of the car, it was unbelievably hot, but the wooden tunnel was shaded and easy to walk through.
We arrived at “Tori-Ike”, which consists of two ponds, one large and one small, connected each other underground, also further connected to the sea.
The deep colored water was so beautiful, made me imagine the calm and deep bottom of the pond.
It was so hot that we decided to go to the hotel to check in.
We crossed the Irabu Bridge once again and checked into the Hotel Atoll Emerald Miyakojima, which was 10 minute drive from the bridge.
From the room we had a panoramic view of the harbor.
It was so hot that we took a dip in the hotel pool and lay down on the sunbeds to watch the Irabu Bridge floating over the sunset water.
After taking a shower in the room, we toasted with Orion beer from the vending machine, and took a rest thereafter.
After a short nap, we went out for dinner.
We happened to stumble upon a live izakaya where we enjoyed sanshin (Okinawan three-stringed instrument) music and gorgeous singing while eating delicious Miyako Island cuisine.
It was really a good time, and I believe that Master Pyonta could have a refreshing time that he had been longing for.
