I was able to book a dorm room in London and it was really nice; new facilities, very clean steps from the tube…only issue was no air conditioning and it was summer🥵 I also booked a room at a student residence in Madrid on Airbnb and it was AMAZING! In Europe privately run student housing is popular and they rent rooms to the general public in off seasons. Definitely will do it again

You can also start solo travel safely by cruising alone.
When I turned 60, I went on a Cruise Solo. I met so many other solo travelers on that cruise. I really liked the fact that I did what I wanted when I wanted to. Now, I travel no other way but Solo.

I'm very much a loner. Being alone's never been an issue. My primary concern is mobility. My lupus has compromised my mobility…sometimes my legs don't want to work all that well. Have you or any of your adventurous friends have any tips for me?

I have solo traced USA, but have not traveled outside the US alone. I would definitely register with the US Embassy if I travel and stay over 20 days in any other county. Especially if I am in a 3rd world country, I would have contacts with someone in our Embassy or would reach out to meet my American Ambassador.
I wish I like dogs or animals, but afraid of cats and dogs and will not or can not stay in a house with animals. I like young kids or can sit with elderly. I took care of my Mom until she passed 2 years ago. Im retired 2 years ago from government work, and live alone since kids are grown. I am interested in traveling but would need to find someone watch my home while aim gone for any long length of time. Enjoy listening to your discussions and looking to try traveling abroad after COVID clears up. I have a home based travel agency and work from home or wherever I am. This is interesting and look forward to try something different.

Recently started solo traveling and at this stage, no more desire to travel in groups. I am learning that I really enjoy my free time and like to be spontaneous. What I want to do depends on my mood that day, so being on a group schedule feels too restrictive. You will never discover this till you try it!

I’ve traveled solo for years and am very aware of my surroundings, don’t stay out late heavy drinking, and do a as lot of group tours while on a trip. I’ve been just fine. I actually prefer solo travel.
I also have ZERO solo travel horror stories. I love Solo travel.
Larger groups of Asian tourists are sometimes just over the top and sometimes rude.

I’m not concerned per se but it’s not as enjoyable to do trips solo. Maybe on occasion. That said it’s solo or nogo so I best get over it.

Yes, I need help. I love the energy and the encouragement on your channel. Only traveled solo once to Egypt in 2007 and was surprised by what I perceived as racism. I’m a dark-skinned full-figured woman and wasn’t expecting this treatment in this African nation.
