  1. i brought my heeler to a dog park the moment he was cleared by the vet as a puppy. even after nearly 2 years, he still isn't able to socialize with people or dogs. it's not always a "mistake" by owners. this breed is prone to anxiety, and i just happen to have one with anxiety off the charts.
still a great, loyal doggo, tho. totally worth it. no regrets!

  2. I didn't get my blue because she looks cool. She was in a kill shelter and if I didn't adopt they would have euthanized her.

  3. My blue healer Hank is amazing. I have had him since he was 3 months. He Is well socialized, very smart, fetches and jump catches anything I throw lol. Hell of a swimmer. Only thing I haven't been able to do is put him with cattle. He is two years old now and regret nothing ❤

  4. A month ago, a young (~18 months) stray blue healer wandered into my very rual homestead and adopted me. I did the required due diligence to find the owner, but to no avail. The vet says she's 100% Queensland Heeler because she shows no other breeds in her phenotype. She lost her first litter to the coyotes, so when she went into heat again, I got her spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and licensed. I've had dogs my whole life, mostly golden retrievers, and have to say that this blue heeler is the most unusual breed I have ever known. She is amazingly loyal, affectionate, and she sheds like a snowstorm drops snowflakes. The only major issue i have with her is that she wants to herd the local pack of coyotes that live in the neighborhood. She has the same response for the squadron of javelinas that live on the property. I am working with her, but it's not easy because her focus on herding is so absolutely strong and overwhelming. It will probably be her death so i enjoy her day by day.

  5. I got a border collie because I love the breed, part of that is looks. However I have my dogs a job I use their energy spending as reward and it’s all about chasing a ball my first one I put 8 hours a day into training and the second one I put maybe 20 minutes a day up till now when he’s hit 9 months, they need patience when their young and a form shit into regimented daily routine at I thing 9 months there was a big mental shift at 9 months with my first and now again with the second capitalise on brain development periods to get what you want out of your dog while you can
