I always fail to understand why the Smooth Fox Terrier isn't as popular and numerous as the Wire-haired variety !
I could see the fact that the Wire-haired variety doesn't shed much hair being an attractive plus. However, the Wire-haired variety obviously needs to be stripped or clipped several times per year so that would incur expense etc. Then the fact that the Wire-haired Fox Terriers are usually much more favoured by judges for honours at shows would probably lead to more of that variety being bred and so the pattern continues. I also like both varieties but the Smooths are my first choice between the two.
I have a fox terrier and I think they are the perfect dog to have in the family and I love mine he is very very wild but he is forgivable cuz I love my dog
I have a 11 month old Smooth Fox Terrier and from all the different dogs i have owned over the Years this!! breed is the very best for me! They do need a good amount of exercise. I'd say at least a good 90mins per day and then your fine. Other wise they will be hard on the head, I find they blend in well with the energy of the home they are raised in. Truly a great little dog .
My tubby is 14 years old…He is a GREAT family pet. Wish I could clone him.
It's the SMOOTH – SMOOTH – SMOOTH Fox Terrier…..all the way with me and my family. They are such a brilliant dog in every way. The 'joy and happiness' that these plucky little vagabonds give to you and your family is just immense. Long live the SMOOTH!!!
My Dad has a lovely smooth fox terrier called Walter who is in my profile pic, he's so affectionate and loving the best dog my family has ever had, only problem is he is a bit chubby and we do exercise him regularly but it's hard not to treat him sometimes as he loves biscuits
Absolutely wrong information about the breed , they went to ground to kill the fox or wait to be dug to , not prevent fox going to ground 😂😂😂
Can't understand why the not more popular, great breed
So beautiful😍!!!
I now have my 5th smooth fox they are all I have known my entire life. Most wonderful, loving loyal little companions ever! Get asked all the time “what kind of dog is that”? And would like a dollar someone calls her a Jack Russell!
I swear I should get a shirt that says I AM NOT A JACK RUSSELL every time I take my smooth fox for a walk!
I like all terrier dogs Tbf
