Short Wire Fox Terrier description:
The wire fox terrier has predominantly white coat which is, well wiry and rough. They have typical V shaped ears which are slightly folded forwards. Another very distinct feauture of their face is their irresistible expression. They should be between 13-16 inches tall which is 33-41 cm and their ideal weight is between 16-18 pounds which is 7-8 kg.

Wire fox terriers are not the best protectors – because of their size – but they make excellent watchdogs. It is because of their courageous personality and keen vision. They will alert you with their bark when something suspicious is going on around your house.

  1. Frasier is an excellent family dog! They have fantastic personalities and are sturdy pups for younger children.

  2. I disagree with you regarding the origin of the Fox Terrier. They are one of the leggy terriers. They were developed to to had the longer legs providing the speed to keep up with hunters on horses and still be able to go to ground for the prey.
Common health problem with FTs are "hot spots".

  3. Hiya…..I just came across your video. I have a wired haired fox terrier called Fred. He’s 5yrs old and Never properly gave me his paw in 4 1/2 yrs. (I got him when he was 9mths) If let him off the lead he will came back when He wants. He also has epilepsy which apparently is notorious for his bred. Anyway thank you for your video. Best wishes

  4. I’m thinking at some point of getting one, so thanks it was informative!

  5. This is ROCKY he is my heart beat, he is 9 years old, love and strength FROM IRELAND🐕🙋🍀🍀🍀

  6. We have a wire fox terrier mix. Her personality is definitely wire fox terrier. A challenging but charming dog. Her personality is amazing.

  7. Wire haired fox terriers are my favorite breed. I only had one and I miss him so much. They're intelligent, cute, funny, loyal, and protective. I so want to get another one.

  8. If you want this breed here are some tips:
Get from a breeder that will not let the pups go until 12weeks old. Pay the money. They need to be weaned from the mother by the mother, organically. Better for training, separation anxiety, and social ability with other dogs.
They are very smart. Be consistent and let the dog train itself. When it does what you want, reward it with praise first, then a treat.
Bad habits that won't break are divino into any type of bags, 'inspecting' visitors, and exploring a new place – like if you go to a friend's house this dog will go everywhere it can fit.
Be prepared to play ball and tug o war for the next 15years of your life.
If you don't engage this dog enough, it will make its own fun.
Buy cheapest squeaky toys you can find and buy as many as you can. Expensive "indestructible" toys will be destroyed in short order.
Buy a German shepherd size water bowl.
Use a harness to walk with. They will choke themselves pulling if something gets its attention. You're gonna want a sturdy, retractable leash to go with that.
    They will try your patience.
They will aggravate you to get what they are focused on wanting atm.
Nothing escapes their attention. They might not react, depends on its mood.
    They pout/ hold grudges.
You will have the conviction, " I love this dog sooo much, but I wouldn't get another one like it." And, you will also conclude that it was The.Best.Dog.Ever.

  9. Well, my Fox Terrier has 43cm and he's eating cooked meat with rice twice a day. He weights 13kg, but he's not fat, just strong biuld, a sport life makes him muscular. Looks like champion for me, but I guess, for bread guidelines he's to big..

  10. I just had to put my girl down after 15 years. I've had many dogs throughout my life and loved everyone, but she was my favorite. She never left my side. Rambuctious, funny and entertaining. An endearing face that could melt anyones heart. She lost her leg to cancer a few years before and what a fighter. Her last years she went everywhere with me, and when it became hard for her to walk very far, she rode in a stroller. Nobody could pass her by without stopping to swoon over her. I heard they were not for inexperienced pet owners but I never found that to be true. She was the epitamy of a best freind. I Ioved her so, and will never stop missing her. Thanks for making up your mind that you were coming home with me when I had no intention of getting a Dog. RIP Maggie my sweet little girl. I love you forever.

  15. They are the greatest , funniest dogs Through out my life I have had 4 of them . They are better for grown ups than for children because they are sometimes short tempered but not vicious. They don’t bite but love to growl and show their teeth . You have to be very careful because having been hunting dogs they follow scent and don’t turn back. They are expert escape artist and get lost easily I love them so much I want to have one till the day I die
