The Airedale Terrier is known as the King Of Terriers. It is undoubtedly the largest of all terrier breeds. Along with it’s majestic looks, the Airedale is an elite working dog. The breed excels at hunting small and medium game.Originating in England the Airedale was originally used to hunt otter and other vermon.

  1. My daughter moved to Texas and lived in the suburbs Soon after moving in a coyote killed their cat. The neighbors told her she would have to be outside with her young children because the coyotes would try for them too. I told her to get an Airedale pup. The pup grew up with them. Nothing was getting past him to hurt them . He even wouldn't let me near them until told I was OK.

  2. i love how americans say yorkshire. as someone from england we say it 'york-shear'

  3. Our Airedale is 100% vegan as well as dried vegan biscuits, they have steamed veg, chikP, Vet is very impressed with his health👏🏽told never give them bones as splinters can split guts!!! In the Guinness book of records the longest living dog was vegan;) We should all stop breeding until every dogs home is empty, tons of Airedales are looking for their 4ever homes😕

  4. Wonderful breed but sadly becoming less popular and not seen very much nowadays unfortunately.

  5. It is mentioned just briefly, by my experience with Airedales and why I miss mine so much, is out of the five large breed dogs I've had, my Airedales truly had a sense of humor. They made me laugh daily, which was a good counterbalance for all the trouble they'd get into. Having a Airedale is a real commitment, they are not easy going labs.

  6. I had an Airedale from puppy to his death from disease at 10 years. He was so strong. Built like a truck, Smart but stubborn and would not always listen. He was a good swimmer but didn't really love the water. He would chase things into the lake but wouldn't go just for fun. My lab was a much better swimmer. I miss him so much. I have his best friend, mix of German Shepard and border collie, who belonged to my good friend who passed away 6 years ago. I agree about airedales not starting fights but would never back down. Also agree strongly about socialization. He was at the dog park almost every day

  7. We have two of these dogs at my work they are interesting dogs they look like sea lions that stand up honestly. They are also very expensive.

  8. Somebody please we raised four and they all at the rainbow bridge waiting for me please somebody help us…. my heart is breaking I want one or two so bad… but they are so out of $$$ range we've had Standard & Orang sizes…. someone please help our hearts are filled with love for them & we do know thus breeds personality

  9. I am from Yorkshire England and my Airedale, ‘Hector’ is 14 and still a lunatic!
You need a dry sense of humour to share your life with one of these scallywags !
Best friend I have ever had x

  10. I grew up with an Airedale. Loved her. These pups will always have a special place in my heart

  11. I would love for you to do a video on Kerry Blue Terriers. It's been hard for me to find good information on what sets them apart from other terriers.

  12. 30 years ago they were tested as a guide dog in new Zealand and he was killing cats while guiding very sneaky and kinda funny and kinda sad .

    Very nice to owner but

  13. Are they a cuddly breed? I keep hearing that they aren’t which is why they don’t recommend them for children.

  14. How are these with babies ? Would you trust the dog enough to leave the baby alone with an airdale if it was in a cot for 5 mins or so

  15. It's a shame I never seen an airdale terrier in UK. Originally bred in UK but apparently it's useless as a working dog in UK unlike USA or Russia. I've always kept big dogs mostly mastiffs. If I could find a good airdale in UK I think I would like to own one.

  16. I have a airedale puppy 6months now and definitely she is attached to me at the hip. Follows me around everywhere 😀 likes hunting birds and isn't doing too bad with obedience training now. She does however get mouthy with me if I'm giving the other dogs attention. I take her to the farmers market so she can socialize with people and music and other animals. It's a full time parental job! Not like our great dane who lazes about 😀

  17. If I ever get a dog, it would be an Airedale. I've loved them since I was a kid.

  18. My Airedale could body surf better than any human. He learned in 5 minutes how to catch fish from a Labrador, when the tide was coming in.
He would occasionally steal beach towels, and hike his leg on sand castles.
Toddlers would approach him he would stop and let them hug him and pet him.
I bought him, Gandolf was his name. I bought him for my wife for a wedding present in because her aunt had an Airedale that was the baby sitter and watcher of their toddler. He understood us, some things we didn't teach when I said do this or that he understood me. He understood my wife when she said " I love you Gandolf "

  19. How much would you sell the dogs for,if you're still breeding them??

  20. Great dogs, but let me tell you something. Do you know WHY they fell out of favor as police dogs? Answer, because after they attack, the handlers found they could not train them consistently to break off the attack on command. THAT is true for pretty well ALL terriers. My neighbor had TWO for years–good buddies until one day they got in a fight and one killed the other–true story. So think about that and if you insist on having a terrier and any other dog–terrier or not, do yourself a favor and MIX THE SEX, two females, not good, two males, really not good and the worst, two–INTACT males. And do make both dogs roughly the same size, one male (fixed) and one fixed female then you have a chance. I don't have terriers at all and I also have never had to have one sewn up at the Vet. Do what you want, but do keep in mind, a terrier will fight TO THE DEATH. A Scotty will take on a Pit Bull Dog–he will die but he is not afraid and will fight to the death.

  21. I'm here to report back about Gandolf.
When you said Airedales don't start fights, I'm reminded of a time down on the beach. We were probably a mile from my father in law's beach house. We came upon a man and his young children (toddlers). Gandolf went to say hello, and they had a very large Doberman a male, he probably weighed 100 lbs. Well the Doberman started it, they nipped at each other a little . There was a brackish lake right there 10 or so feet away. So Gandolf swam out into deep water and the Doberman went after. Big mistake cuz no dog can swim better than Gandolf. Or any Airedale, FACT.
Gandolf swam around the Doberman and climbed on his back and was drowning him. The man said to me, " Hey your dog is killing mine" . I told him your dog was trying to kill mine, but my dog was smaller but WAY smarter. I swam out there and pulled Gandolf off. And we went back to our travels.
