チベタン ・ スパニエルの長所と短所 |善と悪

This video is all about Tibetan spaniel pros and cons, the good and the bad.

Tibetan spaniel:
Tibetan spaniel is a native Tibetan dog that may have shared ancestry with the Japanese Chin and Pekingese.
They were highly prized in ancient Tibet and were widely dispersed throughout Asia as gifts to royal households.
Depictions of the dogs were found on early Eastern art dating back as far as 1100 BC.
The dogs worked turning the prayer wheel for their masters and also as watchdogs in Tibetan monasteries.
They would sit up on the high walls and bark at anything they believed didn’t belong.
The breed was first introduced to England in the late 1800s and AKC recognized in 1983.

  1. Somewhat superficial view on Tibetan Spaniels. They come to maturity really late – after 2-3 years. They are very stubborn, but they like to socialize a lot, even with strangers. Indeed, they are prone to run away because of their curiosity and playfulness. Many of them like digging dirt. Good with cats from their own household. Aggressive toward other's ppl cats, deer, chipmunks and even squirrels. Very good watchdogs, not very noisy. Prone to overweight, need ~2 hour exercise daily. Very slow on the walk, paying special attention to pee marks, not to living objects. Very emotional and attached, but have mind of their own. Shedding continuously, indeed, but they do not smell and are hypoallergenic. Neutered dog are bigger and produce more fur. Their tolerance to heat is zero, but in winter they feel great at ~25F, their favorable temperature. Their "feathers" on the legs are very sensitive, they do not like them dirty or touched. They swim very well. Some problems with spine – as for most of dwarf breeds.

  2. Hoarders, not good at retrieving. Like to own, collect and guard their toys. Very difficult to tackle them despite being seemingly slow. Love big bitches (sirs). For some reason aggressive toward German Shepherds and other "sporty" well-behaving dogs. Extremely good with kids, unless they cause them pain. Their teeth are small but very sharp. Short attention span. Good sense of humor on the border with sarcasm, when adult. Self-reliant, not annoying – do not require constant attention.

  3. My tibbie is extremely smart and it kinda scares me that she seem to understand her family like she learned the English language. I rescued her from a abusive home. I watched her as she was suffering and getting beat in a cage. The min my eyes seen that I told the owner she don't have a dog anymore I'm taking her. I let him know if he have a issue with me taking his dog to fight me. I knew that person couldn't fight so he set there while I took his beat up dog straight to the vet and became her owner. This was in 2017, I still have my dog and she is very loved, loyal and healthy. Thanks for the video, I needed it.

  4. We have a tibetan spaniel. They are quite popular in Finland so there is not much inbreading. I would agree to most of the things mentioned but at least our tibbie manges cold weather quite well. In fact he loves snow and I have not noticed any problems going for a walk even in -20c. I would maybe add that it is a big dog but in small size as they are not normally afraid of bigger dogs or other animals but they choose who they like. Our dog loves all the neighbours and their dogs except for a Pyreneen. I think that is only due to the fact that he sometimes comes in to our yard for pets.

This sitting high and barking at humans going by is in their genes. We always also have him on a leash. If you get a tibbie and plan to go to an exhebition you should not cut the hair on their feet. In wet weather thy collect dirt on their feet and under the belly so you need to shower it away if you don`t like dirt on the floor.I would not concider the grooming requirments to be a big issue and our dog goes in the shower by himself.

He is now 14 years old and still plays with his toys everyday. With age there have also been a growth in reservdness towards strangers. Have he met somone a few times even if it would be years ago he will recognise them as friends. If house is empty during the day it might be good to concider another one or antother pet. Finally all dogs need exersice to stay healthy.
