FYI This breed is Huge, Loud and super picky! My moms cat is 20 yrs old and has always screamed A LOT, knocked over anything if he is mad or hungry (like shattered plates). The breed is also notorious for bad teeth and joint pain. Also since hes old and stopped grooming he has to be taken to
A groomers every 2 weeks where he screams bloody murder like a shiba Inu since he hates the outdoors. Idk why they say their coats are easy to maintain when their not. They have an undercoat that can matte. My mom is in the hospital and Im a cat person but this cat does not like being in new environments or away from their chosen person. Ragamuffins can be seriously temperamental if not trained correctly so just be aware. People say their calm, like to be held and only somewhat vocal. That hasnt been my experience growing up w this cat just be aware every cat has its own personality despite being a specialty breed.

I got mine for free. Because I found it roaming in the streets with a collar. Couldnโt find the owner so I kept it.

My Fluffy found me. She was sitting in my carport one day when I got home from work. I gave her treats. And she promptly adopted us. ๐ฅฐ Coolest cat I've ever known.
Don't forget how they meow day and night. Constantly.
I have one, he is pretty good at keeping himself occupied with toys, hair tye or whatever but he occasionally likes to be held, he also enjoys using the garage as a hunting ground for insects or any other little rodents that try to sneak in. He will sleep next to us in bed. One of his bad traits is that he is TOO adventurous. Even with a catio he will sneak out the front door if given the opportunity and then proceed to panic and hide in a bush in the front yard meowing. He is also VERY clean and never messes in the house purposely and barely outside his litter box. I recommend these cats for anyone who wants a very well natured pet with a lot of patience.

If given a lot of things to keep occupied they are pretty well behaved.
Cons:
Can be TOO adventurous and explore out of safe zones.
Can be clingy
Addicted to Temptations and Fancy Feast
Meows for attention sometimes, (more like yowls).
Sometimes you have to cut dingle berries out of their fur but happens rarely.

My cat is a mix of a Siberian and a Ragamuffin, he is pretty much a Siberian physically with the temperament of a Ragamuffin and that's the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life
I have a ragamuffin, people say they don't mind being picked up. but mine literally freaks out if anyone does. neither does she like to go in anyone's lap.
I have a ginger colour ragamuffin, he is 5 years old, 21 ish pounds.
Here are some thngs about him
1. hates dogs
2. is terrified of men or tall/big people (deep voices too)
3. gets constipated when anxious
4. is pretty chill with people he knows
5. loves to be carried in a baby positing (belly up)
6. gets matts a LOT (i have to brush him 30min-1hr a week to avoid this)
7. makes weird noises
8. loves cuddling and attention in general
9. can jump pretty high when motivated to
10. only drinks running water
My ragamuffin squeaks and trills. I've heard her meow one time and that was when I was brushing her and accidentally pulled her hair.

I was not a cat person. My wife brought home a ragamuffin kitty. Ollie is his name. What a cool cat. He never "meows" he mumbles instead. He will walk around and "talk." So cute.
I am recovering from an operation and a few times a day Ollie will come up to me and wait for me to pat my tummy. Then he climbs up on my tummy and lays on me as he purrs. Such a cool cat. ๐
