I can totally understand how challenging it is to raise a Shih Tzu, especially if it’s your first dog. I started this channel to help Shih Tzu owners take better Care of their Cuddle Monster.

I adopted a little dog 10 years ago from a shelter and still unsure if he is a lhasa apso or a shihtzu or maybe even a mix of both. I didn't realise there were so many different types of shihtzu
I own both a Black and a Brindle Shih Tzu ~ both are female. The Black is registered, whereas the Brindle is not. She came from 2 registered parents, however, my daughter whom I got her from did not register the liter. I really didn’t care about papers. My daughter had given her to a woman who did not properly care for the pup. I got her at age 9 months and she is 11 years old now and very spoiled ~ as all pets should be.

My aunt owns shih tzu 6 of them (2 were given to relatives)
My favorite Shihtzu is the brindle color. I have been FORTUNATE to have two of these , a male that latter changed to charcoal gray and white and the female is gradually starting to turn to tan and white. She is just three years old. They are wonderful companions and very loyal and smart.

My Sparky was a rescue, due to his disabled owner passing away from COVID. I wasn't looking for a particular breed, but I thought he was the cutest dog EVER the moment I saw him. Sparky and my favorite cat became instant friends, and that settled it. I had found my companion canine. He is Black with white on his chest and paws, and looks like an American boy.

Maybe get your facts straight before making a video about something. An Imperial shih tzu is a 100% purebred, but from lines of small individuals lacking the heavy bone structure and height of the standard.
I owned (and loved) an Imperial ShihTzu. She was 8 lbs and very small. She was chocolate/liver and white. She was also registered with AKC. She was the 'dog love of my life' and went everywhere with me. I lost her to her heart giving out when she was 16 yrs old. I still miss her years later.
Your video is full of lies. Your ignorance comes through again and again throughout video. You are so far down the line of intelligence is sickening that you spread these lies to unknowing people. Totop it off, some of the dogs you show are not even Shih Tzu. And to say imperial are not even Shih Tzu is just insane.

oh, how wrong you got it, imperial is a pure breed dog, it just refers to size. and two standar size shih tzu can have very small pure breed shih tzu and be called imperials. I have bred the two sizes.

First you need to understand the difference between a Lasa dog and a Shih Tzu. Why misleading people by sharing wrong information?
Shih Tzu is a Chinese breed… nowhere related with Europe or America….
I have two shih tzu, father and son. But they look different. I sometimes wonder if the son is a cross breed. I call them Ewok and Chewbacca. I love them both to bits because of they’re personalities

If both the Imperial Shih Tzu and teacup Shih tzu are from purebred AKC parents, they are purebred. It’s just that the smaller dogs do not meet breed standards. Most of the pet quality Shih Tzu that people know and love Do Not meet AKC Shih Tzu standards. Too taller, too short, the coat not as full, the wrong tail set, tail too curly……….I could go on. Because your beloved pet doesn’t meet show quality standards doesn’t make them any less of a Shih Tzu.

I don't know what my shih tzu looks like American, Europe, teacup, it's exactly look the same as my shih tzu. I just don't one dog in my house I have two dogs in manila so that makes 3 dogs on my house and manila. One is my liver or brown, white shih tzu and I also have a black, white imperial shih tzu and last is my Pomeranian 😊
