The head is broad, the jaws well defined, the cheekbones pronounced, and the dark, round eyes are set wide apart. AmStaff movement is agile and graceful, with a springy gait that advertises the breed’s innate confidence. The stiff, glossy coat comes in many colors and patterns. AmStaffers describe their dogs as keenly aware of their surroundings, game for anything, and lovable “personality dogs” around the house. AmStaffs like mental and physical challenges. They are highly trainable, as their many forays into showbiz suggest. When acquiring an AmStaff, there’s only one way to go: Do your homework and find a responsible AKC breeder.

  1. You State that you are a vet. And yet your dogs ears have been snipped. HOW DARE YOU, BUTCHER!!!

  2. i dopted an amstaff that not have proper training. . he kills evrything small animals spaecially chickens, and same sex dogs

  3. I currently own a beautiful AM Staff/ Bully Male, almost three years old. This dogs intelligence is unbelievable.

  4. We rescued a "pit" puppy a year ago and I had no idea until last night that she was actually an AM Staff. I was a die hard doberman fan, even rescued a doberman/pit mix who was so sweet and absolutely a beast of a dog. Am Staffs stole my heart and it will be hard not to rescue more in the future.

  5. Staffy, even called "Nanny dog" is the english, Staffordshire bullterrier! Amstaff is the American staffordshire terrier! Some ppl seem to mix them up! 😮I've have had both!! Size and looks are totally different!

  6. I love my am staff…wish people understood the difference between them and pit bulls. Pit bulls are wonderful don’t misunderstand…just wish people could tell the difference

  7. please stop with the ear cropping! it only makes people see them as mean dogs! no real purpose for this.

  8. Stop cropping their ears. They have such cute ears and half their emotions are expressed by their ears. Neither of my two pitties have had cropped ears.

  9. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love them soooooo much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤…… Have had one my big Love she was 💯❤

  10. These dogs aren’t for everyone and the ones that are more lean or bulldog like aren’t dog friendly. The ones you’re showing are usually really sweet. They’re hardheaded and intelligent but they’re amazing companions.

  11. What work would you say they are best suited for? I travel all the time but would love to have something that could possibly use it’s nose to do some tracking type things like my JRT

  12. My girl is so sensitive to wind if cropping helps her I’m there, any information will help x

  13. Love my Am Staff. Great with the family and friends . Knows when its time to play or its time to be all business. Great with kids and ppl . Always had a Am Staff or Pitty around . Grandpa had one , Dad has one , I got one , Now my kids got one raising with their kids

  14. I love my American staffy Baxter he's nearly 5 years old and I've had him less than a year! He is very protective of me, based on how I treat him! He is very spoilt and built like a brick shithouse, but I've imprinted on him

  15. Don’t cut there ears! You can talk all you like about their temperament…what does it say about yours cropping ears.

  16. Ive owned German Shepherds my whole life and they are one of my favor dog breeds, but im seeking a medium size dog and ive always loved terriers and their energy. Im debating on a Amstaff or Bull Terrier

  17. Why cut its ears if you love them????
Its only for fighting and sometimes appearances
    I hate it,if its a pet,don't crop its ears

  18. Im so happy my Amstaff still has his ears. How would you like it if i cut your ears with a pair of dikes? Dont tell me what I need or want in a dog to him good enough for you! I love him exactly the way God created him!

  19. Pitties and bullies are not amstaffs
    Totally different breeds
    DNA shows it
    I have an amstaff

  20. My rescue was a park dump. He immediately chose to be part of the household doesn’t bother the cats or chickens and only seems territorial at home towards new strangers. After his morning walk he is rather lazy a prefers to rest and relax near me at all times of course. I have never witnessed the high maintenance energetic behavior used to describe the breed. He has been the easiest, most loving cuddle boy I could ever imagine. With him as an example I would describe the breed as low maintenance with the exception that I don’t think he could tolerate being away from us for any length of time so travel is out, being that you can’t really travel with them because they are a restricted breed in most places.

  21. If you truely cared for the welfare of your dogs you wouldn’t cut their ears, your all shit lady.

  22. My amstaff had floppy ears and a tail like a whip. He was unaltered. I would fall asleep on the couch and he would shove me off and I’d wake up on the floor. He was a snuggle bud. I miss him every day. I love staffies.

  23. They crossed the bulldog with the old english terrier (black &tan) to get the bull&terrier (50/50) then crossed the bull and terrier with white english terrier to get oval head all white bull terrier amstaff and apbt was same dog till 1935 amstaff is show pet version apbt is workin line game dog

  24. Ours needs 3 mile walks per day plus another hour of fetch with the ball every day but it’s worth it – great smart dog!
    ,,

  25. Maybe the worst videos from Documentary TV about a breed. I am owner of three Amstaff as first owner….with all of them I made the education IGBH 1 …..protection dog training…/his woman does not knot more than a normal house wife abou4 any dogs….

  26. I have a fawn bully he is 112 lb and a total guard dog. He is totally guarding and does not like people or other dogs. I Keep him in my house and in my yard only. Events told me do not take him around other people or pets because he was so guarding when he 3 months old the vet wanted to euthanize. I said no.😊 He is 10 years old now. And I had a second vet try to euthanize at 3 . I said no again. He is family 😊

  27. Everything you said about these AmStaff is so spot on, I really appreciate your content. I wish more people will come to understand that America Staffordshire Terriers is the epitome of a perfect family dog. Intelligent, gentle around little kids, and built to protect. Love my dog so much.

  28. I thought I had a pittie for a long time, but she’s a amstaff and it all makes sense now! Her temperament , her social skills, intelligence , and energy level. She’s the greatest dog I’ve ever owned. I would love to have another one in the future !
