The Smooth Fox Terrier surely deserves to be more popular and numerous. They possess a very impressively, well balanced small/ medium sized compact physique and they have plenty of intelligence, energy, character and personality. 'Basil' is a name that suits the Smoothie as I believe that it means 'King' ; back in the 1970's my grandmother had a Smooth Fox Terrier called 'Rex' which also translates as 'King' as far as I know !
Fox Terriers are my all time favourite. Wilful and spirited, but lion hearted, and with correct treatment are eminently trainable. Simply adorable companions.
Have been an owner of two SFT's until 18 months ago. Full of admiration to see Basil. Wish I could have got ours as well behaved. But you gotta love them anyway, as they're great and rewarding dogs.

I could walk a mile with my fox terrier on a leash and he never pulled he walked perfectly next to me. A perfect dog.
