im going to get a cairn terrier but i hav some questions r they cute??? r thet easy to train???im not good with aggresive dogs????? i want a sweet dog that will follow me everywhere and a good running partner. is the cairn terrier right for me???if u dont think so plz give me some other ideas of dogs that would be good
I had the pleasure of knowing my dog "roby" for 8 years. He was a cairn terrier and was the most gentle, loving dog I ever had. Unfortunetly he became very ill (kidney problems) and had to be put down. I have lost one of my dearest friends. RIP baby boy
@Azurithe hi ^^ i have a cairn terrier, hes name is Spike. They are so cute, and they are easy to train, but as they said in this show they are a bit stubborn. My dog is not aggresive, that axtaly depends on the dogs "master". And i think the cairn terrier is the right dog for you ^^
i have adog that looks a lot like this, but he has a curved tail and a more muscular build. so i know its not a cairn terrier. does anyone have any ideas on what it might be?
My dog is a cairn terrier and her name is lucy, what i like about this breed is they all have thier own personality my dog lucy is very loyal and kind, she doesn't always listen when i say "come here lucy" but thats when we are outside because she is so adventours and she likes to chase after rabbits but she doesnt plan on killing one, i know that because she almost got a rabbit but instead of attacking it she turned around she is so funny and she is a little confident dog i love her! >.<
My grandma had a cairn terrier named Cassie. It got almost 15 years old. Poor dog got brain issues and was better off dead. During her last years she would do nothing but sleep and eat and take walks outside 🙂
i have 2 cairn terriors they look like little wolfs ones name is chicle spanish for bubble gum i named him that because he always walks with me everywhere and hes very loyal to me there the absolute best
I need HELP seriously My mom want to give up our dog I want him to go to a good Home and do not want to take him to a shelter Hes 3 yrs old cute not agrresive good arnd kids hes neutered hes a cairn terrier
This video misrepresents Cairns. There is absolutely no call for Cairns to be as noisy , yappy as the dogs shown here. I have always had Cairns and they are disciplined not to bark constantly. I really resent the image this video presents about how yappy these undisciplined Cairns are. Also, my Cairns get along fine with young children.
I absoulutely fell in love with this breed! My Cairn is called Big Ben and I guess he's a typicall example for this breed: He's very very funny and intelligent and he loves chasing the tennis ball 😉
I love him so much and I can't even imagin a life without a Cairn – they're an amzing breed!!
Smart, loyal, and full of life. They are wonderful dogs (but you need to train them properly…). I've had one for 10 years and my family has had them for over 30 years. Loved every single one!
What's not to love? Even when they don't listen and are VERY stubborn they are so funny you cant stay mad at them. My cairn is the best and my own personal clown. LOVE MY CRAZY BUG!!!
@dirtybathproductions Dogs don't behave bad because they are bad. It's because of you and your family. So it's your fault, and not the dogs fault. Cairns are very demanding dogs, and you were simply not able to live up to its demands.
I have a cairn named nico and he's the most sweetest thing ever!! To have an obedient cairn you have to start training early. At least that's what worked for me.
I have a cairn and i live him to death! They have. Great personalities and so loveable he gives us so much love and he was the best thing i bought ever! Love u scruffy-3
I'm thinking of adopting on of those from paws and naming it toto from wizard of oz but I heard they r not great pets and there aggressive and very active and if u baby it like dress it up it will get more aggressive beacaue it thinks they own u and also they are made for hunting things and kill rats squirrels and rabbits is this stuff all true?
@thefunny718 some of it is, mainly that thry were bred for farmers. to kill and chase off small rodents. if a cairn sees one of those rodents he was bred to hunt he will go.after it but ive never had diffiiculty getting mine back. he listens fairly well when i call. you could.dress them up and baby them thats more.how well you train them as. opposed to the breed
Fellow Cairn owner.. well, correction.. we don't own anyone… we belong to her! Love the video. My Annie is awesome. Can't go a day without laughing, it is always something. I have more pictures and videos of her then i do of my children.. they are 20 & 17 yrs old, and laugh at there crazy mom and her side kick!! She is a therapy dig at children's hospital. And geriatric unit. She is amazing at making people happy!
Thefunny718. Maybe not the dog for you. Not aggressive at all.!!! Absolutely the opposite. Their life revolves around pleasing humans!!! Must give then a job and active or yes they will find entertainment — the terrier breed in general is independent and loving. Please Don't get a dog because of what you see on TV. (They are actors!) Research the characteristics and see if that best suits your lifestyle. But awesome job adopting.. too many wonderful pups out there needing loving safe homes…
When most people hear the word terrier, they picture Toto, the Cairn Terrier in The Wizard of Oz — and rightfully so, because this sturdy little dog breed is everything a terrier was designed to be: strong, hardy, up on his toes, confident, plucky, and spirited.
…I have a wheaten Cairn that we rescued, he is the most loveable little guy, he thinks he is just a short furry human. Can't imagine not having this little bundle of pure love in my life.

@PuR3EpIcNeSs8 yeah, but my family trained her not to run away because she used to try to get out of the house every chance she got.

@mimzshenkdog My cairn terrier is EXACTLY like that. He has every one of those traits to a certain degree.
But I love my dog and my family and I could never imagine life without him
I miss my wee tumble, he was a fantastic wee dog! Cairns are fantastic wee dogs!
