  1. Mine is only 35lbs but everypne loves him. Hes a gamie little bastard. He will try to fight any dog bigger that trys ti show dominance or do gay things towards him. He has never lost a fight.

  2. I recently found a red heeler pup on the streets of South Central LA and gave her some actual food because she was digging for scraps. I was going for a run and she actually ran with me and even nibbled at the back of my legs. It did not take long for her to know the rhythm and she became my best workout buddy ever. She loves to run with me and especially loves when I give those short burst of speed when sprinting. The fact that I don’t have to put her on a leash and she follows close to me proves to me that this breed when it comes to intelligence and loyalty is bar none.

  3. Hi, are blue/red heelers affectionate, cuddly and sweet, or are they independent? I'm looking for a cuddly, loving dog so I would like to know

  4. I got a red heeler crossed with a jack Russell terrier
He was a stray in a country town where i lived with my mum and uncle, he just waltzed into my mums work through the back gate and never left so he was fed and taught how to sit and everyone immediately noted how friendly and affectionate he was with people, if you pet him he'll paw you back with both paws like hes trying to hug your hand 😂
Hes travelled a long way to live with us and hes been woth is now for just under 5 years
Digger is his name and hes a good lad
Absolutely beautiful little dog with a lot of character, hes very jealous of other dogs around me and hes got a mean bark and a nasty bite but hes alright

  5. My grand daughter was raised. Around Lilly both were born same with our Australian Shepherd Lily, and rocket learned not to nip at our ankles Lilly Are red heeler rocket Shepherd both are gentle with our granddaughter

  6. I have a red healer . If he don't get enough exercise, he will chew up anything you got. Jeep will watch me when I put my shoes up , later will go back and try to get them. Love him ❤

  7. Just got an 18 month old female, very little socialization. With love and patience you can train most dogs. I know what I’m getting into. My grand dog is a Texas heeler, lived with us for 2 years. Lot’s of mental and physical stimulation is the key. If you don’t – expect disruptive behavior. The look very cool, be willing to make them happy. 63 and looking forward to having a companion for many years. 😉

  9. My dogs name should be Velcro. Even a 3 years, he won't leave my side. He hates to be away from me.

  10. Have had a heeler all my life basically and love this breed of dog. I now have my own and she’s the best dog all around

  11. Me and my sis took on a red heeler when he was already 4 years old. I did most of the walking since he liked to pull on the leash a lot and that wore out my sister. They are very energetic but I'd say over time, he grew to like small animals like cats. He unfortunately lives with my parents as he gets older and older, currently sitting at 13 and will more than likely keep living on. But be cautious, blindness and deaf is an issue with this breed, my poor boy has both but he had excellent hearing and sight when he was in his prime. I love him a lot but its sad that my parents didn't want me to take him with me as I moved out, they grew too fondly of him but dont take him on walks or keep him active as he should be. So im looking for another heeler sometime in the near future. Amazing dogs, love the energy these pups carry
