Although the early ancestors of this breed came from England, the development of the American Staffordshire Terrier is the story of a truly American breed. This type of dog was instrumental in the success of farmers and settlers who developed this country. They were used for general farm work, hunting wild pigs, bears, and other large game, guarding the homestead, and general companionship.
The American Staffordshire terrier’s roots can be traced back to 19th century England. The bulldogs and terriers of the time were crossed to create a dog that possessed desirable attributes of each breed. The result was an agile and energetic terrier with bulldog-like perseverance and confidence.

My am staff is amazing she is a rescue but she is amazing she is animal aggressive but we are training that out of her some say it's not possible but it is with a well mannered animal she is gorgeous so proud protective of us and her family but so sweet. We have the aggression pretty much licked as she isn't interested in other dogs cats or home pets pretty much just birds rabbits ground hogs and other small rodents and such but as a breed she is amazing
Willow is her name and she is a lover through and through goof all bighead silly 🪿 for sure she is so loveable it's crazy
Is it dangerous or aggressive?

Beautiful breed dog on the earth 🌍 ❤
Staffordshire terrier’s weight is 40-45 lbs and stand around 17”-19” tall. They are a slim muscular dog. I have had them for over 40 years. They are not a large dog by any means. Size wise they would be the size of a Blue Heeler if you want a comparison. Just not as much hair. They are none aggressive, loyal, and loving dogs. My dogs would play with cats, Chihuahuas, Great Danes. The dogs that seam to have a hard time with my Staffordshire Terriers were Blue Tick Hounds. They just could not get along with that type of dog.
20 years ago they were much shorter than they are now
An amstaff is not a pit bull
They’re 2 different breeds
I have an amstaff and he is the best
Most people are afraid of him and he is gentle while their dogs are awful
0:49 looks like human a bit
stop fucking choking them like that
I WISHD ID HAD AMSTAFF
I rescued my Staff he when he was probably five weeks old! Didn't even know what breed he was, and he's the best dog I've ever had. He's exceptionally smart and loves everyone.… Including the cat and the indoor squirrel?!🤷🏻♀️
Getting my Amstaff Mack was the best thing I ever did!
Such a smart, kind, affectionate and playful boy.
He's sleeping at my feet right now…
I have a Am staff /American Bulldog mix. Owned a Dalmatian when I was younger never thought I would find as good a dog . It’s a smart (slightly less) the but stronger, just as playful if not more , mines is more territorial and protective. Will chase coyotes away and walk back through the woods. Def seem to have prey drive when triggered or without for some unfamiliar animals. Great with kids but super playful and can sometimes get too carried away not in a agressive way .
They are called the nanny dog. Great with kids
My Velda is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. But I hate it when everyone one of my neghibors cross the street long before we cross paths. Fkn old people.
My amstaff was the best dog in this world
I wish people would stop clipping their ears, it's a disgusting practice which serves no purpose but only traumatises the dog. Their natural ears are beautiful either way.
I have an Amstaff heeler I adore
I love Amstaffs
the brindle in this video is exactly my dog
My big amstaf is just a honey bear, we love him dearly
Mine died in 2024….
Most loyal dog ever incredible with my cats, with me, as wheelchair bound…. need another one in my life….b❤

Can I take it to a dog park?
YEAAAAAH I HAVE HAD SUCH A BEAUTY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤ANNA❤ MANY ❤ GREETINGS FROM GERMANY
Rescued a beautiful brindle AmStaff. It took some getting used to but everyone who lays eyes on him has to stop me and tell me what a gorgeous boy he is lol. He's the most emotional dog I've ever had as well. He's a blast to play with and has no idea how big n strong he is, thank God.
Great Britain not just England, lots of imports from Ireland and England. Assumed Scotland as well.
Crossed with unknown domestic dogs ,
My husband and I found an AmStaffy a month ago on the street, he was completely malnourished only waiting 8 pounds he was 11 weeks so we immediately took him in and now this is our first ever dog together and no, we’re going through the growing pains of how to handle a puppy and how to raise him and we’re trying to get as much advice as possible but we love him and we are loving this new experience
