You did a video on giving your cattle dog a job and asked for examples of jobs. My ACD is my service dog. I am his job. He takes care of me and does a spectacular job. He is the most loyal and loving dog. Smartest dog I've ever encountered. I am so fortunate to have him in my life. I could go on all day but the bottom line is he truly is my bestfriend.
Love your videos. My Cattle dog was the best dog I ever had. You MUST exercise and engage with then. You will have the best dog. Love the diagonal shadows in this video also.

Haven’t had my Heeler chew anything major yet, BUT it hasn’t been that long. I’m waiting to see what he’s gonna wanna go for. My Collie chewed the couch cushions, and my Aussie chewed books and sandals.
Edit: When my rabbits tried to chew the rugs, I gave them more blocks to chew and more toys and it distracted them pretty good.

My puppy isn’t even 5 months old, and is only 30% ACD (but 20% Border Collie)…but she has been a champion chewer from the moment we got her at 11 weeks. Now you’ve got me a bit concerned about the 6- to 9-month period!
Love your show. I have a Red Heeler and I love him. The Heelers are amazing not like any dog I have ever had. He makes me laugh. Chewing also comes from being spitefully because you are not spending enough quality time with them. They are telling you they are frustrated and want to be with you more.

Hello! New ACD/ Border Collie puppy parents here and new to the breed. Thank you so much for your videos and channel! Do you use "break" or "release" with your heelers? Our 8 month old has a hard time transitioning between training and being done so she gets frustrated. Thoughts or ideas anyone?

i have fostered many different types of puppies (9-12wks old) and the one cattle dog pup i fostered was in the extreme scale in terms of energy, stubbornness, and independence. They are like Jack Russells on steroids, lol. She was very sweet and I miss her but she definitely needed a hands-on active owner.

I have to recommend dried beef tendon, Honey is going from milk teeth to big girl teefs,☺️ and she hasn't been this busy in 3 weeks. 😁
This was a good pep talk. I haven’t had too much damage, but I tryyyyyyy to put everything out of reach and limit her access to parts of the house. Still, she got into the laundry basket a few times and chewing the crotch out of 2 pairs of lululemon pants, my sports bra and favorite pair of socks and the shag rug, my brothers outdoor couch cushions, etc… has been frustrating. I’ve gone through a lot of toys, but was scratching my head trying to figure out how long this chewing random stuff will last because I really can’t remember with my old dog. She’s almost a year now.

Sounds like the terrible 2s and threenager stages of raising a lil hooman! My daughter is 6 so I made through lol. Might be a lil rusty but it's like riding a bike, you always remember.
My girl is one and half years old. She's sitting right beside me chewing on one of her three flavored nylon chew toys. She "sharpens her teeth" for an hour or so, several times a day. Anytime she grabs something she shouldn't, we correct and redirect to her nylon "binkies". She's so smart and wants to do the right thing. I had a Kai Ken too. She lived to be 13 and passed a couple months ago. I adopted our Blue Heeler/cattle dog a month later. She was at a shelter. Best dog ever!

My red healer is eight months old right now and just chewed a huge hole through our living room wall.
I got so lucky with my cattle dog mix. He didn’t chew anything except his toys. But I realize that’s not common. On the other hand, he was nippy and reactive and didn’t really get along with other dogs. So, give and take I guess. 🙂
