  1. My friend in Alberta had a sierra dog. Can. Am. Biss Ch. Sierras Max Bandit if I remember. Awesome dog. 4 Best in shows I believe. #1 Staff in Cdn history.

  2. If I'm correct am staffs and APBT used to be one breed before branching off into two different strains and eventually into different breeds?

  3. Ah, I just asked you a question if this was the same Sierra Kennels that Gator McClusky came from and then I heard you say that you took this over from Sandra Dean. Yes, it is the same one! We bought a beautiful boy from Sandra in about 84. He came from the same parents as Gator McClusky – Blue Max and ….I forget the mom's name. Our boy was Sierra's Sky Bolt Blue. Sandra used to talk about the Del Rio's a lot too. Are they still active with breeding Am Staffs?

  4. Great dogs! My family and I live in San Diego, we have been looking for the right breeder to talk to, about finding the prefect dog for us.

  5. I agree with her da way they're making theses bullys look today is very hurtful as a dog lover. Some can barely run

  6. She has some great looking Amstaffs, and couldn't agree more about the extreme bullies. They've just been badly bred over the years. Like she said, "They lost their integral ability to function".

  7. Well spoken, straight shooting woman who stands by her brand; whether you agree with her or not – can't fault her for that. Her Amstaffs are a little on the heavy side, but I wouldn't say extreme. They still look functional. I wonder what AmStaff foundations her dogs came from: Tacoma, Ruffian, Crusader, California…? And what the Sierra dog's temperament is like…anyone here know ?

  8. A lot of Bully breeders have gone away from “function” which is troubling! Dogs are “functional” companions! I hate to see dogs that can barely walk, breathe, or otherwise function in a meaningful capacity!!!

  9. Seeing her dogs I can see where breeders used the amstaff as the foundation for the American bully, especially the more conventional and workable Gotti and razor’s edge dogs.

  10. American Bully's only "function" is a big family pet. That's all they're bred for. If you're comparing an Amstaff to a Bully, you're the one who has lost the breeding insight for the dog. It's like if you compared an American Bulldog to an English Bulldog or a Frenchie.

Yes you have some of the breed intertwined but they're completely different dogs. Not that I like Bully dogs, especially not the tiny ones that look like frogs with down syndrome, but don't compare them to a working dog because they're not that.

  11. Amstaffs physically verry nice balanced body head everything and a sweet character, they can be used for multi purpose function, i don't understand why people breeding out balanced unhealthy dog's with no funtionings. With the Ambul we can see clearly that they have used a lot off Amstaff blood, nowdays they begin to adding also mastiffs to get more bigger, bigger it isnt important the bigger isnt mor beautiful, balanced is more beautiful functional is the important…

  12. Is she trying to breed out dog aggression in her dogs? That would make them more desirable to the general public

  13. I remember Sierra amstaffs! They were fuckin amazing back in 90s and early 2000s. They were stunning! Wish she was still heavy in the game. They need her back

  14. A companion soul a bulldog inside a pit bull and a pit bull outside a bulldog,a mellow and more predictable friend great around Kids yes more slower but a trucker dog at best….love to the ABKC

  15. 100% true the healthy proportional good balanced energic will to please not lazy has gameness functional practical bully, not to big can easy bring anywhere is the Amstaff,,,,

  16. A Colby American Pitbull Terrier is the standard for this breed the particular dog Escapes Me Now but it was a Colby dog

  17. I may not agree on ALL of Lorene's viewpoints but she nailed it with the american bullies. She completely understands what a bull type dog is and carries it in her breeding project.

  18. the best Amstaffs are probably from the older bloodlines. Its just a fact. The reason is temperament. The more you breed dogs away from that you are playing with fire. Those original dogs Temperament were bred to be very courageous and never turn on their owner EVER. The more people try to play with that the last thing you want is a man-biter.

  19. When you focus too much on muscular and bone structure, you miss out on the most important things. Temperament, and loyalty.
