What would happen if a whippet was somehow dropped into the wild? Spoiler alert: it wouldn’t go well. Lets explore why the majestic, yet mild whippet is possibly the least equipped creature to survive without a couch, preheated dinner or emotional support human.

Hey, fellow dog fanciers and whippeteers! My name is Addie, proudly owned by 6 gorgeous whippets currently (10 throughout the years), and I have been surrounded by pets since day 1. The world of show dogs, dog shows and responsible breeding has been keeping me busy since the age of 12 and this channel is especially created to educate on these controversial topics.

  1. Mine is quite a good hunter! – So she'd live on Squirrels. But a soft bed, fluffy blankets, fresh water? She'd definitely miss those.

  2. One of mine would survive in the wild during daylight hours, she finds and eats everything, likes the wind, tolerates rain and hates wearing a coat. At night she tunnels into my bed or blankets and how she breathes under all that is still a mystery to me.

  3. My whippet has trained every old lady we meet to give him food, he would easily survive in the wild lol

  4. Yeah I'd give my guy about an hour. I take him in the desert and he just stands there, looking completely helpless. He can barely walk because he hates rocks. Nothing wrong with his feet… Just hates the feel of anything remotely rough.

  5. My old lurcher boy Zephyr used to give Gracie whippet the odd rabbit he caught, which she ate with relish, although she's never been interested in hunting anything bigger than flies herself. 😂 She'd be horrified at the thought of not having her sofa and human slave to minister to her every whim!

  6. I love listening and watching your videos .. and you are hilarious! I have a 14 month old whippet x bull arab and am arranging to take a 2 year old whippet who needs rehoming. Can't wait to see what she's like! Apparently she's been an outside dog (in freezing temps), so will be interesting to see what she thinks of the inside and soft lounges and beds and blankets and lots of love and warmth. We're in Australia.

  7. Our fawn and white had a strong prey drive. She kept the squirrels and rabbits in fear of the great huntress on HER property. She was as skillful as a major league baseball fielder triangulating on her prize. As much as we tried to calm her instinct, she was vigilant at the window and once charged right through the patio door screen. At least it was flexible and she wasn’t hurt. We miss her huge spirit and adorable face.

  8. Theese dogs are sweet and everything but personally i dont like them.
    1. They eat eachothers poo
    2. They love picking up old chewing gum from the ground and eat it
    3. They are very bond to their owner and as soon as he/she ois gone they start to whine and shit everywhere
    4. For some strange reason they think that they should be laying in bed and have a blanket over them. And if you dont provide that they whine and bite on everything
    5. They are overall a weak dog that cant take cold, rain etc
    6. They are probabaly the least intelligent breed out there. They cant learn anything

  9. You’ve had my wife and I in stitches. We have a 15 week old whippet puppy and everything you say is spot on, totally useless but absolutely adorable.
