Just outside urban Mumbai lies a pool of zoanthids. These tiny organisms shine bright, creating natureโs own fluorescent city lights โ but theyโre only exposed for a few hours each month at low tide, meaning both time and tide is against the crew.

Gorgeous.
India has a lot of pollution
๐ซถ
BBC video on India without any negative comment on government or country? Now this is new!๐๐ More rare than these animals
Wow.
This is because Mumbai has greatly reduced pollution
Itโs strange that those sea creatures are found in coral reefs but are thriving in polluted water in India.
Man, I clicked this video to watch a natural wonder. What I got was professionals struggling to film them and talking too much about that.
Wow, wonderful to know. I have been to Mumbai dozens of times, but never knew about this. Zoanthids are found in Gujarat Coast also, and perhaps may be in other states too. Indian marine biologists are studying about them (https://eprints.cmfri.org.in/9199/1/JMBAUK_Zooanthids_2015_Zacharia_Kripa_Grinson.pdf)
Is it safe to touch?
Cool! Never seen this on TV or the internet before.
No offense, but I think these creatures were more protected with the public being unaware of them
India is increidbly blessed with nature and biodiversity
