Bilbo, our Bearded Collie and I enjoyed this lovely 7 mile circular walk around Alwen Reservoir in North Wales, UK. The way-marked trail runs through forest, moorland and along the water’s edge on forestry tracks and surfaced paths. You get wonderful views across the reservoir and on a clear day, the mountains of Snowdonia (Eryri) are visible.
Needless to say Bilbo thoroughly enjoyed himself with lots of exploring and paddling spots.
Alwen Reservoir and its huge dam were constructed in the early 20th century to provide water for the port of Birkenhead.

Bilbo loves water as much as a Newfoundland dog.
This walk was also great.
It was especially great to do with a dog.
