Jax, a ~10 year old border collie mix adopted from a shelter less than three weeks ago, tested out her off-leash listening skills with only our best friends around (in a place where dogs are allowed to be off of their leashes), and I was astonished by her recall skills! I was so scared to drop the leash for the first time, but in a space like this with few distractions, Jax did so great. As you can see in this video, she chose to come to me without being asked! Soli Deo Gloria! I apologize for the shaky video – I wasn’t intending to let Jax off of the leash, much less did I intend to film it, so please enjoy this spontaneous dog adventure short video as it is! 🙂 Thank you for being here. The truth is that no one is promised another breath, so you need to know what will happen when you die, knowing that “it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). What does God require for people to go to heaven? The Bible teaches that anyone who has lied will go to hell, and it says that “Yahweh will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain” (Exodus 20:7). Dishonoring one’s parents is also sinful. Our sin separates us from God because He is holy (perfect), and we cannot earn heaven because even things we do that seem good “are like a filthy garment” (Isaiah 64:6). Romans 3:12 indicates that “there is none who does good,” and Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” As such, the Bible teaches that salvation is “by grace…through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Son of God, Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, came to earth. He obeyed God perfectly. Despite this, He came to die. He died on the cross, taking the wrath of God in place of sinners who deserve God’s wrath in hell. Please read 2 Corinthians 5:21. Jesus was put in the tomb, and God raised Him from the dead three days later, which fulfilled prophecy and proved that Jesus is God. Now Jesus is in heaven at the right hand of God the Father. Because of Christ, God will declare the worst of sinners who repents of his or her sins and believes in Jesus Christ and what He did to be not guilty. He promises to give true believers “eternal life” and to raise them from the dead “on the last day” (John 6:40). Consider the cost of following Jesus, and “repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15); you may not have another opportunity. Trust in Him ALONE for your salvation! If you’ve truly repented and believed (which is granted by God), know for today and forever that you have abundant and everlasting life in Jesus Christ, God’s Son! Also know that those who hear this message of the gospel and reject it will have a worse punishment in hell (Matthew 11). Please read the Bible, especially the gospel of John!
