#A5680804 Piglet is a wide eyed shy girl who needs a slow approach to gradually build trust, and her time in the shelter has been very challenging since the volunteers have not been able to get her out much. She urgently needs out to fully recover from an upper respiratory infection that has been keeping her out of public view for weeks. After such a stressful stay here she needs lots of patience and time to relax. We are hoping for a rescue or an experienced adopter to find her and see that she has potential and deserves a chance.
– very stressed in the kennel environment, she does not show well and is barrier reactive
– skeptical of the leash and new people, once she feels comfortable and safe she is better on leash and will follow along with a trusted handler
– tolerates being carried when she does not feel safe walking on leash
– being treated for an upper respiratory infection and will need to continue her antibiotics until at least 3/30
– brown brindle and white coat, with a smoosh face and natural floppy ears
– short stack looks like she might have Bulldog in her family tree, and the shelter listed her as a staffordshire
– the Care Center is recommending an adults only home and no other dogs as she is so shy and reactive
– about 2 years and 37 pounds
– came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on February 20, 2025
– spayed and ready to go home!

Our Mission:
United Hope for Animals is dedicated to reducing homelessness among companion animals through spay/neuter, shelter support, photography, video and networking of shelter animals in Southern California. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
