Meet Duke, a sweet Old English Sheepdog who is going to help us demonstrate how to keep ears SAFE and DRY during the bath. Water should never get into a dog’s ear during a bath, but it’s critical that we wash and scrub (and condition) those ears! So, how do we wash around ears without getting a drop of water into the ear canal?
We’ll show you a grooming trick that we call the Gentle Ear Flap Pinch Technique, and we’re going to prove that it works! Hope this helps keep all those ear canals out there safe and dry. Happy Grooming!

Help keep the treats coming—for me and the pups! ☕🐾

  1. Great instruction. Now we see how to keep his ears dry! But he is a pointy ear Westie, so is it MUCH different?
We literally had Cooper at the vet last week for an ear infection after a bath 3-4 days before. 2nd time.
He was happy again in 2 days, but we need a better way. Thank you!

  2. I need to wash the underside of the ear flap, the oils from the ear, the road dirt, car exhaust, etc, no sidewalks either and also my dogs are short,(havanese)with full coated ears aswell. I soap up but plug the ear opening with my thumb and proceed with my groom, individual ear of course. I did try the cotton stuffing but mine just shook them out, oh well.
