The Neapolitan Mastiff is the ultimate Watch Dog, you want this warrior in your home.
This is a new web series here on Dogumentary, I will be interviewing breed experts on all the things prospective owners need to know.
For Neapolitan Mastiffs aka The Mastino I sat down with Marcus Curtis of Old World Mostinos. Marcus goes over energy level, space needed, rules, and Neo temperament.

I loved the video. How do you start training these big beautiful dogs? I'd like to see a video about that from a dog man like him 🙂
Very well informed and fully educational. This video helped me to make my decision.
Any advise on adopting a year old Neapolitan? We maybe adopting one. He is not fixed
My daughter have one but the he choose me because I'm the chief!
I had a neo back in 1986. His mother and Father were Italian imports. His Name was NERO. He did well in the show ring. He was even in Dog World magazine back then. I miss him dearly. This documentary is RIGHT ON about Neos. He was highly intelligent and emotional. He was an incredible guard dog with a commanding bark and ferocious growl at times. He would do anything to protect me and all I had to do was to let him know that this person was OK and he would be nice and play with anyone who was a friend. NERO was a great companion and I will always love and miss him very much.
Is a good as service dogs for people that have postmatic stress syndrome and balance problems
Cane Corso cousin
Great video!
Amazing breed loyal and protective
Great information
Lucky for you it is drool and just size you deal with. I have the total opposite. Fast running, snake hunting ,pack oriented dogs. Used for woodland and farm protection. We all have an ups and downs with breed.
He can't see
Very informative. Thanks.
QUESTION: Any problem with a 3 y.o. female cattle dog coexisting with a female neo puppy to be raised with the cattle dog?
FACTS: I have a nearly 3 y.o. female blue heeler. I have 2 acres fenced with a cattle fence and gates. My cattle dog, who sleeps in my bedroom, is outside before dawn and after sunset so I worry about coyotes. I'm thinking about getting a neo to keep her company and as coyote protection. My wife's male Malinois recently died of old age. She lives 65 miles away and we visit each other on weekends. Because she's going to get another male Malinois, I thought I'd get a female Neopolitan. Hence, my question whether a 3 y.o. female cattle dog will get along with a female neo puppy that will be raised with the cattle dog?
Can you do an updated video of show lines and working lines?
Sir, that is a small bear.
Este documental tiene un grave error y es que de la persona entrevistada no nos interesa su imagen, nos interesa ver perros.
You forget to mention that they feel so good!!!
Looks stinky
I have a Neapolitan mastiff and he is one in 3 months old I also know there is two French bull masters who live around the corner for me which is pretty terrifying They're both males they don't seem to like my dog the French bull mastiff I'm a bit worried I just wondered if you could help me with this because it's quite quite concerning they've approached my dog twice so far I seen him walking around the street with no lead it's quite scary to know that these dogs can hurt each other They're both they're all three males my my male or massive and there's two other French people mastiffs that can be very terrifying I just wondered how I can deal with this could you help me please thank you
