Well, My uncle is a very successful dog breeder and he trains all of him dogs, and they are fabulous, not perfect but, fabulous, and he says working for food is not key. Use what they love besides food. Like a ball, all his dogs loved balls, so they worked for the ball(watch out boys lol) and it has worked very well. But if working for food is helping YOU and WINNIE then keep going. Loving the progress. Love y’all ❤

Don’t subject your pet to continuous semi-starvation in order to “train” them. People had obedient animals long before this became a thing.
