Crop them. During fights other animals target them because it’s a weak spot that causes a lot of pain. When dogs attack bears they go for the ears, it’s a vunerable spot. The bear has a very thick hide and dogs can’t hurt a bear with its bite unless it bites it’s ears.
Some dogs just flat out look better with cropped ears then without. The Doberman is definitely one of them. So does a Canis Panther which has Doberman in it!!!

Also can’t feel great to move your ears front to back naturally and then not be able to do move them at all for the rest of your life. Once again, no proven benefit.

My Dobermans are cropped. They certainly express their emotions by moving their ears and tails. They have had zero ear infections and no health issues as a result. People should actually do a little research on the breed's history instead of letting their feelings do their thinking for them. Politicians should stay out of people's business.

I had my Doberman’s ears cropped to help with her chronic ear infections- After the crop the infections completely stopped- Also; I’m not sure what the whole ear/communication concern is about; my dog can lay her ears down, stand them up, put them back, swivel them around, they are not stuck in “aggressive mode” and she can honestly put them in more positions than a dog with floppy ears so again, not sure what they’re talking about here-

No canines in nature have floppy ears. There is a reason for that and we engineered the flop anyway.
