Tbh the only reason I’m uploading this is I had a 17 year old Manx cat I’ve had since I was young pass away recently. I love the breed sweetest cats in the world. Since this wasn’t on youtube yet here you go.
Okay so, I have a little puppy, and my crazy neighbor has like 30 cats and one is a manx. That manx cat is super aggressive and everytime she sees my dog, she comes running to attack him, in a very aggressive way, I try to stop her but she is not afraid of me. I have to grab my dog and go away. This is happening way too many times and if I don't find a solution soon, I will have to do something about it and it won't be pretty. 🙂 of course, I love animals, I took care of many cats of friends before, but never saw a cat like this one, I'm against animal cruelty, but I gotta protect my innocent dog. Any tips? Or should I just go ahead and take her to see the ocean? Cheers
Adopted a Manx from Animal Welfare in Pennsylvania in 1993. She was my first cat though I had cat sit for three years. She had been brought there by a couple divorcing and returning to Michigan. We bonded immediately, she always want d to cuddle, unlike any cat I had ever seen. Named her Snuggles, she was so entertaining, hopping around with her short legs. Moved to Virginia in 1997 which didn’t bother her at all. When my Mother developed colon cancer and was going thru depression , a very difficult time, I took Snuggles to her (about 200 miles away) and let her stay with my Mother since I would be back every weekend. In two months time Snuggles worked miracles for my Mother. In 2001 unfortunately Snuggles developed serious kidney problems.. After several days at the vet being rehydrated , was advised to have her euthanized. Spent about an hour holding her, me crying all the time, I agreed and she was given the injection with me holding her, she didn’t even mince and went to sleep peacefully in my arms. I still miss her every day, but have received great comfort from my next too adoptions, Salt (all white) and her brother Pepperoni (all black). Both developed cancers in 20113 and died. Now I have Tinydancer and she has been so loving and comforting to me after having a spinal fusion and both hips replaced. She wants to be with me with my hand on her twelve to fourteen hours a day. She is the most personable cat I’ve seen, loves everyone who comes in and is constantly sits on my chest, staring into my eyes until she is convinced I’m OK. She then asks to go under the covers where she will sleep four to six hours. I hope to be united with all of these wonderful cats again one day.
I currently have 10 cats, as my wife and have taken in strays since we were married. I have had 2 rumpies, and one stumpy (currently), and I have to say that they are the most entertaining, and loving cats I have ever owned.
Used to have a very handsome rumpy. He was black and white and his markings made him look like he was wearing a tux. Loved that cat! He had the best personality. His name was "Hobbit"…. And definitely hope to have one again in the future
My sister and I had a Manx cat. He was a beautiful tuxedo cat. His fur was medium length a little bit longer than short hair. It was very silky when I petted him. His named was Taboo. My sister got him from a pet store when I was living with her and also she got the sibling to him a grey tabby kitten. My sister cried when we put the other kitten down. Shortly after that she got a red tabby kitten next door to the vet. That kitten has a tale. Luckily they were kittens and grew up together as besties.
Found a manx baby cat in the scrub. all skinny , thought it's tail had came off. must be a manx (how it got out here in outback oz is any ones guess. ) its all round and fetches like my dogs. It "flops" in your arms or as it snuggels up to sleep. runs like a rabbit. never had a cat like it. jet black little cat shaped like a ball noisy chirruping thing that bosses the dogs an other cats alike.
Damn Isle of man. It's also know one of the worlds most famous, oldest, and deadliest motorcycle race. The Tourist Trophy (TT), but it is not relevant…😋
l'm lndonesian, an archipelagic tropical-country, ½ a globe away from Brittish isles.ln 2nd January 2009 l found a grey skinny-stumpy Manx-like kitten scavenging food leftovers from new-year celebration at my neighbour's dumpsite.l cleaned, fed her & she grew-up to be a cuddly effective killing-machine for fruit-eating bats who consume my papaya.Papaya trees are monocotyl, they have no branch & slippery trunk.Anyway, my Mpoesje had no difficulties to bring those pests on my front door each morning. She passed away Thursday 9th January 2020.She left me her 5 kittens(4 boys & a girl) & 4 grandkittens. All her descendants have normal tails but, unlike their Matron , they are effective just to hunting rats.Still l love them for the sake of Mpoesje
I have a stumpy manx cat named bobby (full name is the dread pirate roberts) (yes we also have a cat named humperdinck) (but bobby is very fluffly so we also call him floof) he was raised in a foster home around dogs and was bottle fed a lot so he acts like a dog frequently he even tries to steal dog treats from our dogs and he loves belly rubs
Brushed twice a week?? More like twice a day! If your thinking about getting a manx I'll help you decide. He/she will be the best cat companion you will ever have
Our Manx showed up when we were moving into a rental house in Calif. Just walked in the front door and there was our cat. He didn't help move in any boxes or furniture but we kept him anyhow after a check up, chip scan and newspaper ads in the lost & found.
A Manx kitten from who knows where was crying in my parent's front yard. They found him in a tree and he was taken inside. No mom was ever found, nor did any neighbors know his origin. He had very long back legs and when he walked, his gait was slow and he walked with a style that seemed like he was "Full of Himself." He was named J.D., Jim Dandy, because of his walk.
I don't know why, but he loved me. I did pay the most attention to him and he was my shadow when I visited. He would even greet me, by running up to me, he'd grab my leg with his front paws, hug my leg, back legs standing on my foot and I'd walk with him standing on my foot, outside into my parent's house. He was a crackup.
J.D. was very dog like. It was effortless to teach him to fetch a sock. He was a great snuggle cat. I was visiting once, got sick and went to bed early freezing, with a fever. Never did he ever climb on me, but that night, he laid on my chest and wow, was he warm. I slept through the night and felt pretty decent the next day. I awoke with him grooming my head hair. Crazy dog like cat. I enjoyed him for 7 years.
Unfortunately, my mother called one night and said he quit eating much, his gut was large, he seemed thin and she was going to take him to the vet the next morning. He died that night. I read that Manx have a propensity to get Megacolon and that they don't recover from it. The saving grace was he went quickly, but to this day, I miss him so much. He was the best cat I could ever imagine could exist and I fear no cat will measure up to Jim Dandy.
We just got a 9 week old Manx kitten. He's a black and white tuxedo. The night we brought him home, we watched this. My teenage son said "He's British and always in a tuxedo. His name is Bond, James Bond." Bond for short.
