Georginio Rutter insisted Brighton will “keep pushing” to qualify for Europe, after their dramatic draw against Tottenham.<\/p>\n
The Seagulls twice came from behind in a 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Rutter coming off the bench to equalise in the 95th minute.<\/p>\n
Rutter\u2019s leveller was the 11th scored by a substitute for Brighton this season in the Premier League, with no side netting more goals courtesy of players coming off the bench\u00a0in the competition this term (Arsenal also 11).<\/p>\n
Brighton are now unbeaten in their last four away games in the league (W3 D1), only enjoying a longer unbeaten run on the road under Fabian Hurzeler once in the top-flight (five between\u00a0December 2024 and January 2025).<\/p>\n
The Seagulls remain one point behind seventh-place Brentford, who drew against\u00a0Fulham earlier on Saturday, though they could drop down the table if Everton beat Liverpool and Sunderland defeat Aston Villa on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Rutter hailed Brighton’s character to come back late on against Spurs, as they dream of a return to Europe.<\/p>\n
“The good thing is we came back. We took one point, better than nothing,” Rutter told Sky Sports.\u00a0“We could give up and we didn’t. We were pushing for the third goal as well, that shows big character.<\/p>\n
“We try to take it game by game. We knew today would not be easy because they want to push to stay in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
“We are in good shape, too, because we haven’t lost for a long time. Maybe, at the end, one point is enough to go to Europe. We keep pushing.\u00a0We think about it [Europe]. I think about it because we are close.”<\/p>\n
