Professor Yasue Mochizuki of the School of Law and Politics participated in the Japan-France Research Symposium (Colloque) \u201cThe Reception of International Human Rights Law in the French and Japanese Legal Systems\u201d (\u201cLa r\u00e9ception du droit international des droits de l\u2019Homme dans les ordres juridiques fran\u00e7ais et japonais\u201d), jointly organized by the University of Paris-Cit\u00e9 (Malakoff, France) and Kwansei Gakuin University, held on March 10, 2025, in Malakoff, France. Prof. Mochizuki delivered a presentation titled \u201cThe Reception of International Human Rights Law in the Japanese Legal System: Focusing on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women\u201d (\u226aLa r\u00e9ception du droit international des droits de l’homme dans l’ordre juridique japonais: autour de la Convention sur l\u2019\u00e9limination de toutes les formes de discrimination \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des femmes\u226b). This research is part of the outcome of the 2025 Kwansei Gakuin University Collaborative Research Project \u201cResearch on the Reception and Implementation of International Human Rights in Japan\u201d (Principal Investigator: Sachiko Yoshimura, Professor, School of International Studies; Co-Investigators: Takeshi Inoue, Professor, School of Law and Politics; Yasue Mochizuki, Professor, School of Law and Politics; Misako Takizawa, Professor, College of Arts and Sciences, J.F. Oberlin University). The symposium examined legal, political, and cultural issues surrounding the reception of international human rights law within the legal systems of Japan and France. Twenty researchers, practitioners, and students participated in the event, which featured research presentations and a question-and-answer session.
