On February 19 (Thu) and 20 (Fri), 2026, Mie University conducted its original in-house English training program for beginner-level staff as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote internationalization. The program was facilitated by staff members from the International Relations Division, with international students serving as assistants, and a total of 36 full-time and part-time staff members participated.<\/p>\n

\u672c\u7814\u4fee\u306f\u3001\u4f01\u753b\u7dcf\u52d9\u90e8\u56fd\u969b\u6226\u7565\u30c1\u30fc\u30e0\u3068\u4eba\u4e8b\u4f01\u753b\u30c1\u30fc\u30e0\u304c\u9023\u643a\u3057\u3066\u4f01\u753b\u3057\u305f\u3082\u306e\u3067\u3001\u5b66\u5185\u30ea\u30bd\u30fc\u30b9\u3092\u6700\u5927\u9650\u306b\u6d3b\u7528\u3057\u306a\u304c\u3089\u5faa\u74b0\u578b\u306e\u4eba\u6750\u80b2\u6210\u3092\u63a8\u9032\u3059\u308b\u53d6\u308a\u7d44\u307f\u3068\u3057\u3066\u4f4d\u7f6e\u3065\u3051\u3089\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

This program was jointly planned by the International Relations Division and the Human Resources Planning Division of the Department of General Affairs & Planning. It is positioned as an initiative that fully leverages internal university resources and contributes to a sustainable, circulation-based approach to staff development.<\/p>\n

\u7814\u4fee\u5192\u982d\u3001\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u306e\u591a\u304f\u306f\u82f1\u8a9e\u3078\u306e\u82e6\u624b\u610f\u8b58\u304b\u3089\u7dca\u5f35\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u69d8\u5b50\u3067\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3001\u7559\u5b66\u751f\u30a2\u30b7\u30b9\u30bf\u30f3\u30c8\u3068\u306e\u30a2\u30a4\u30b9\u30d6\u30ec\u30a4\u30af\u300c\u30bf\u30d6\u30fc\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\uff08\u7981\u6b62\u8a9e\u3092\u4f7f\u308f\u305a\u306b\u82f1\u8a9e\u3067\u304a\u984c\u3092\u8aac\u660e\u3059\u308b\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\uff09\u300d\u304c\u59cb\u307e\u308b\u3068\u3001\u5f90\u3005\u306b\u8868\u60c5\u304c\u548c\u3089\u304e\u3001\u7b11\u9854\u3067\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30b1\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3\u3092\u697d\u3057\u3080\u59ff\u304c\u898b\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the training, many participants appeared nervous due to their lack of confidence in using English. However, once the icebreaker “Taboo Game” -in which participants explain a target word in English without using designated taboo words- began, the atmosphere quickly relaxed. Guided by the international student assistants, participants gradually opened up and engaged in communicate with smiles.<\/p>\n

\u7814\u4fee\u3067\u306f\u3001\u7570\u6587\u5316\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30b1\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3\u306e\u57fa\u672c\u3084\u3001\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u3092\u76f4\u8a33\u305b\u305a\u300c\u8981\u7d04\u30fb\u8a00\u3044\u63db\u3048\u30fb\u5177\u4f53\u5316\u300d\u3092\u901a\u3058\u3066\u4f1d\u308f\u308a\u3084\u3059\u3044\u82f1\u8a9e\u306b\u3059\u308b\u5de5\u592b\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u5b66\u3073\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u7559\u5b66\u751f\u30a2\u30b7\u30b9\u30bf\u30f3\u30c8\u3092\u76f8\u624b\u306b\u3057\u305f\u7a93\u53e3\u5bfe\u5fdc\u306e\u30ed\u30fc\u30eb\u30d7\u30ec\u30a4\u3067\u306f\u3001\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u304c\u30c1\u30fc\u30e0\u30ef\u30fc\u30af\u3092\u767a\u63ee\u3057\u3001\u30b8\u30a7\u30b9\u30c1\u30e3\u30fc\u3092\u4ea4\u3048\u306a\u304c\u3089\u7a4d\u6975\u7684\u306b\u8a71\u305d\u3046\u3068\u3059\u308b\u69d8\u5b50\u304c\u5370\u8c61\u7684\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

The training covered the fundamentals of intercultural communication, as well as practical techniques for making Japanese messages more understandable in English-such as summarizing, paraphrasing, and adding concrete details rather than relying on direct translation. During role-playing activities simulating front-desk interactions, participants demonstrated strong teamwork and made intentional efforts to communicate proactively using gestures and other strategies to bridge the communication gaps.<\/p>\n

\u53c2\u52a0\u8005\u304b\u3089\u306f\u3001\u300c\u82f1\u8a9e\u3078\u306e\u6050\u6016\u5fc3\u304c\u8584\u308c\u305f\u300d\u300c\u7559\u5b66\u751f\u3068\u3082\u3063\u3068\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30b1\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3\u3092\u53d6\u308a\u305f\u3044\u300d\u300c\u7d99\u7d9a\u3057\u3066\u5b66\u7fd2\u3057\u305f\u3044\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3063\u305f\u524d\u5411\u304d\u306a\u611f\u60f3\u304c\u591a\u304f\u5bc4\u305b\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

Participants shared positive feedback, including “I feel less intimidated by English,” “I want to communicate more with international students,” and “I would like to continue studying English.”.<\/p>\n

\u307e\u305f\u30012\u67089\u65e5\uff08\u6708\uff09\u306b\u306f\u5b66\u5916\u8b1b\u5e2b\u306b\u3088\u308b\u82f1\u8a9e\uff08\u4e2d\u7d1a\uff09\u7814\u4fee\u3082\u958b\u50ac\u3055\u308c\u3001\u5e38\u52e4\u4e8b\u52d9\u8077\u54e114\u540d\u304c\u3088\u308a\u767a\u5c55\u7684\u306a\u7a93\u53e3\u696d\u52d9\u306b\u95a2\u3059\u308b\u30b9\u30d4\u30fc\u30ad\u30f3\u30b0\u3092\u5b9f\u8df5\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n

In addition to this program, an intermediate-level English training session led by an external instructor was held on February 9 (Mon), 2026, in which 14 full-time staff members practiced advanced speaking skills related to front-desk operations.<\/p>\n

\u4e09\u91cd\u5927\u5b66\u3067\u306f\u3001\u4eca\u5f8c\u3082\u7fd2\u719f\u6bb5\u968e\u306b\u5fdc\u3058\u305f\u7814\u4fee\u3092\u7d99\u7d9a\u3057\u3001\u56fd\u969b\u696d\u52d9\u3092\u652f\u3048\u308b\u8077\u54e1\u306e\u30b9\u30ad\u30eb\u5411\u4e0a\u3068\u3001\u30b0\u30ed\u30fc\u30d0\u30eb\u306a\u5927\u5b66\u904b\u55b6\u306b\u8cc7\u3059\u308b\u4eba\u6750\u80b2\u6210\u3092\u9032\u3081\u3066\u307e\u3044\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
