JAKARTA – President Donald Trump promised US assistance to Argentina. But Trump said the aid was not through bailout funds.<\/p>\n
Trump spoke with Argentine President Javier Milei before the two leaders met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, a day after Finance Minister Scott Bessent said all options were available to stabilize the Latin American country.<\/p>\n
“We will help them. I don’t think they need bailout funds,” Trump told reporters in New York.<\/p>\n
“Scott is working with their country so they can get their debt smoothly and all the things needed to make Argentina great again,” Trump continued.<\/p>\n
Trump offers his support for Milei’s re-nomination so that his opponent has a next term “to complete his duties.”<\/p>\n
When asked further about US efforts, Trump said, “We provide our full support and support to the President of Argentina.”<\/p>\n
