MUJI BASE KYOTO kiyomizu opens on May 20.<\/p>\n

Ryohin Keikaku, the operator of the MUJI brand, will open MUJI BASE KYOTO kiyomizu (4-171 Kiyomizu, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) on May 20. <\/p>\n

The new hotel is a renovation of the former Amenity Hotel Kyoto. While preserving the original exterior, which has long been a part of the neighborhood’s scenery, the 18 guest rooms are furnished primarily with MUJI’s signature furniture and decor. The interiors also incorporate artworks by local Kyoto artists and craftsmen. <\/p>\n

The hotel offers four room types: Double Rooms (approx. 18.1\u201318.8 m2) with a queen bed; Twin Rooms (approx. 25.6 m2) that can accommodate up to three guests with a bunk bed and a daybed; Twin Rooms with Bathtub (approx. 29.8\u201330.9 m2); and Family Rooms (approx. 53 m2) designed for groups, featuring four double beds. Rates start from 20,600 yen per room per night. For breakfast, guests can enjoy a special menu exclusive to hotel guests at Ogawa Coffee Kiyomizu on the first floor (advance reservation required). <\/p>\n

Taking advantage of its prime location just a few minutes’ walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the hotel offers unique activities for its guests. These include the “Early Morning Walk to Kiyomizu,” a guided stroll to the temple (daily from 5:40 AM to 7:00 AM, for guests only, additional fee applies). Furthermore, each guest room is equipped with a “Neighborhood Discovery Map,” which introduces nine local experiences for discovering the beauty of everyday life in Kyoto. This initiative underscores the hotel’s focus on providing authentic local experiences. <\/p>\n
