\n\/MONTSAME\/. The \u201cFourth Mongolia-South Korea Strategic Forum\u201d took place at
\nthe State Palace on August 20, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
First Deputy Prime Minister
\nof Mongolia Uchral Nyam-Osor delivered opening remarks, noting
\nthat, since establishing diplomatic relations in 1990, bilateral cooperation
\nbetween Mongolia and the Republic of Korea has developed intensively, reaching
\nthe level of a Comprehensive Partnership through joint efforts. First Deputy PM
\nhighlighted the significance of the Forum in defining the directions of the
\nbilateral strategic partnership and exploring new opportunities and resources
\nfor future cooperation.<\/p>\n

\nfurther elaborated, \u201cMongolia has abundant renewable energy resources. If
\nits abundant sources of solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal energy are utilized
\nefficiently, Mongolia has the potential not only to meet its own energy needs
\nbut also to supply energy to the broader region. Thus, the high technology,
\ninvestment, and experiences of the Republic of Korea can make a valuable
\ncontribution to the future of Mongolia\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Furthermore, we need to join forces
\nin efforts to combat climate change on a regional level. Implementing joint
\nprojects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and increasing reforestation, as
\nwell as sharing research findings on pollution, will not only contribute to
\nenvironmental protection but also further strengthen the future relations and
\ncooperation between the two countries. <\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This Strategic Forum is the
\nbeginning of a new step forward in bilateral cooperation. I am confident that
\nthe strategic partnership between Mongolia and South Korea in the areas of
\nrenewable energy, urban heating modernization, and environmental protection
\nwill continue to strengthen and expand, contributing to the creation of a
\nhealthy and sustainable environment for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Held annually, this year\u2019s
\nedition of the Forum focuses on the themes of energy and ecological issues.<\/p>\n

Executive Director of the
\nBan-Ki Moon Foundation for a Better Future, Mr. Kim Sook, stated in his
\ninterview, \u201cMongolia, with its vast lands, has abundant renewable
\nenergy resources, marking a potential to unlock many advantages. The development
\nof renewable energy will contribute not only to the domestic power and energy sectors
\nbut also to the technology sector, particularly artificial intelligence. Many
\nrenewable energy experts work in the Republic of Korea. I am confident that at
\nthis Forum, we will set the foundation for incorporating our human resources into
\nenergy operations to reach tangible outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Advisor to the Minister of
\nEnvironment and Climate Change, Mr. D. Amgalan, noted the Fourth Mongolia-South
\nKorea Strategic Forum as one form of bilateral cooperation, and stated, \u201cThe
\nrenewable energy technologies currently in use in South Korea are highly
\napplicable to Mongolia. In addition, the environmental and climate change
\nresearch conducted by Korean experts closely aligns with Mongolia\u2019s conditions,
\nmaking their implementation both relevant and feasible in practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
