It will be his 12th to the Indo-Pacific region as a whole since he became America’s top diplomat in January 2021, while he will be the first U.S. secretary of state to visit New Zealand since 2017.

The official said temporary U.S. duty officers were already in Tonga and a first directly assigned officer would be there “in a few short weeks,” with the intention being to have an ambassador resident there.

Reporting by Doina Chiacu, Paul Grant and David Brunnstrom; Editing by Will Dunham and Stephen Coates

私たちの行動規範：トムソン・ロイター「信頼の原則」, opens new tab

FILE PHOTO: U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken speaks during a press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, Jul

[785171
14869,3391,763686,133795,534347,285050,762697,762688,6639,238274,763118,765772,27211,89874,396003,786369,19294
0":"post-2510286","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-australia","8":"tag-asia","9":"tag-au","10":"tag-aunz","11":"tag-australia","12":"tag-cn","13":"tag-dip","14":"tag-namer","15":"tag-news1","16":"tag-nz","17":"tag-pol","18":"tag-pxp","19":"tag-socc","20":"tag-to","21":"tag-us","22":"tag-wash","23":"tag-wspo","24":"tag-19294
["GET
