[ブリュッセル ２９日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）欧州委員会は２９日
、米メタ・プラットフォームズ(META.O), opens new tabのフェイスブック（ＦＢ）とインスタグラムがテック規制「デジタルサービス法（ＤＳＡ）」に違反したとする暫定的な見解を示した。１３歳未満の児童がＳＮＳにアクセスできないよう、さらなる対策を講じる必要があるとしている。
欧州委は２年間にわたって調査を行ってきた。
メタはこの暫定見解に異議を唱えており、欧州委が最終決定を下す前に反論し、是正措置を講じることができる。ＤＳＡ違反とされれば、企業は全世界の年間売上高の最大６％に相当する罰金が科される可能性がある。
欧州委は、メタがＦＢとインスタにおける年齢制限の徹底に十分な取り組みを行っておらず、１３歳未満の児童を特定し、サービスにアクセスした際に排除するための措置が不十分と指摘。欧州の１３歳未満の子どもの１０─１２％がＦＢとインスタを利用しているという。
一方、メタはこの数値に異議を唱え、これは約１０年前のわずかなユーザー調査に基づいていると主張。来週、追加措置を発表するとしている。
メタの広報担当者は「年齢の把握は業界全体での解決策が必要だ。われわれはこの重要な問題について欧州委と建設的に対話を続けていく」と述べた。
