[ベルリン／ミュンヘン １３日 ロイター] – ルビオ米国務長官は１３日、ミュンヘン安全保障会議を前に、急速に変化する世界において米国と欧州の関係が「決定的な局面」に直面していると警告した。一方で、昨年のバンス副大統領と比べてより融和的な姿勢を示した。

昨年はバンス氏がミュンヘン会議での演説で、言論の自由を検閲し移民管理に失敗しているとして欧州の指導者を非難し、米欧の関係悪化の転換点となった。

ルビオ氏はミュンヘンに向けて出発する前に「決定的な局面にある。世界はわれわれの目の前で非常に速く変化している」と述べた。「私が育った古い世界は消えた。われわれは地政学の新時代に生きている。この時代がどのようなものか、自分たちの役割が何になるのか、誰もが見直しを迫られている」と語った。

さらに、「（米国は）欧州と深く結びついている。米欧の未来はこれまでも常に一体で、これからもそうあり続ける」と述べ、「そのため、未来がどのようなものになるのかを話し合わなければならない」と訴えた。
