[コペンハーゲン ２日 ロイター] – ベルギーのデウェーフェル首相は２日、欧州連合（ＥＵ）首脳に対し、ベルギー国内で凍結されているロシア資産をウクライナ支援に活用する場合、リスクの分担を保証するよう求めた。
コペンハーゲンで１日に開かれたＥＵ首脳会議では、西側で凍結されたロシア資産を活用し１４００億ユーロの融資をウクライナに供与する案に多くの指導者が支持を表明したが、法律上・財務上の問題がまだ残っているとされた。
欧州で凍結されているロシア資産の多くは、証券保管機関ユーロクリアがあるベルギーで保管されており、ベルギーをロシアの報復から守る仕組みを構築する必要がある。
同首相は記者団に「ただで手に入る金などない。いつも何らかの結果が伴う」とし「私は昨日『プーチンの金を使うのであれば、失敗した場合に私たち全員が責任を負う』と署名してほしいと同僚に話した」と述べた。
この計画については、ロシア政府が「純然たる窃盗」だと非難している。
ＥＵのカラス外務・安全保障政策上級代表は計画がいつ完了するかは分からないと述べた。
ベルギー政府はユーロクリアの経営陣個人の安全にも懸念を示している。デウェーフェル首相は「ユーロクリアの責任者はすでに厳重な警備の下で暮らしており、今後の動きには危険が伴う」と語った
