[コペンハーゲン １９日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）の財務相は１９日、現在主流となっている米国のビザやマスターカードに代わるデジタルユーロの導入に向けたロードマップで合意した。
デンマークの首都コペンハーゲンで会合を開き、欧州中央銀行（ＥＣＢ）のラガルド総裁、欧州委員会のドムブロフスキス上級副委員長（通商政策担当）と会談。次のステップについて合意に達した。
これによりＥＵ財務相はデジタル通貨の発行や各居住者が保有できる数について発言権を持つことになる。これは銀行預金の取り付け騒ぎに対する懸念を和らげる上で極めて重要になるとみられている。
ユーロ圏財務相会合（ユーログループ）のドナフー議長は共同記者会見で、「われわれが達した妥協案は、ＥＣＢが発行に関して最終決定を下す前に、閣僚理事会で議論する機会を設けるというものだ」と説明した。
ドナフー氏、ラガルド氏、ドムブロフスキス氏はまた、保有制限の設定手続きに関する妥協案についても歓迎したが、詳細は明らかにしなかった。
会議の参加者がロイターに語ったところによると、ＥＣＢは欧州財務相理事会の承認を得るため、保有制限案を提出するという。
欧州委員会は２０２３年６月にデジタルユーロ法案を提案したが、欧州議会と欧州理事会はまだ承認していない。
