I just saw the movie, and I can't help but think of this headcanon where the little girl Suzu's mom saved became Peggie Sue. She'd be around the same age as Suzu, she wears a lot of purple, has her hair up in the high ponytail with bangs, I just found it an interesting coincidence.
From there I never saw her again, it was the most devastating day of my life, I already lost the only person who was by my side… since we had good and unique moments singing, having fun, playing and learning everything It was very nice but that's over forever……it won't be the same…..not anymore…….I lost the person I loved all this time……
!!!!AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF THAT LITTLE BITCH WHO TOOK FROM ME WHAT I LOVED, IT'S ALL HER FAULT!!!!

I would have loved for Suzu to hold a grudge and anger against that girl who is the culprit who took her mother's life away.
from where she, now grown up, would meet the girl from the lake, there she recognizes her and begins to choke her with an intense look and saying
"DAMN BASTARD, BECAUSE OF YOU YOU MADE THE PERSON MY MOTHER LOVED DIE, I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME!!!!"
From there, her friend and the other students would stop her from what was happening and the principal would see it and send him to the management for his erratic behavior. Her father would be there and she would tell him that that girl was the culprit who caused her to lose her life. her mother, and then her father would reason with her but she would be very angry and tell him
"!!!!I'M TIRED AND SICK OF YOU NEVER UNDERSTANDING ME OR LISTENING TO ME HOW I AM DAD, IF MY MOTHER HAD NOT HAD RESCUED THAT STUPID GIRL, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, IF YOU HAD BEEN THE ONE TO RESCUATE HER YOU WOULD ALREADY BE DEAD AND MY MOTHER "I WOULD BE ALIVE INSTEAD OF YOU, I'M ALREADY TIRED OF THIS LIFE!!!!"
and with that she runs away crying and then curls up in a tree in a forest to calm down a little, I would have liked it to exist in the movie where Suzu takes revenge on that girl who took her mother away from her.
No matter how many times I see this I cannot help but think it was a stupid decision, indeed the mother was a hero to the little girl and her parents but why the girl parents didn't do anything to rescue their own child, first rule while trying to rescue someone do not put your life at risk
