Bill gates has significantly more money invested in Apple than he does in Microsoft.

That’s right, despite being the founder of trillion dollar software company, Bill Gates is no longer the companies CEO, or even their biggest investor.

Since 1995 he has slowly sold his holdings in Microsoft with a lot of the proceeds going to his charity work and whatever is leftover being reinvested through a New York based investment firm that exists exclusively to manage Bills personal fortune.

Its notable investment include a 71% stake in the Four Seasons Hotel chain, 270,000 acres of farmland and a 4% stake in Berkshire Hathaway, the investment company run by bills long-time friend Warren Buffet.

That 4% stake in Berkshire represents almost half of Bills Assets under management, and almost half of Berkshire Hathaway’s assets under management are Apple Shares.

At current values that would mean that Gates owns about 22 billion dollars’ worth of Microsoft stock, and indirectly owns 30 billion dollars’ worth of Apple stock.

  1. I'm done sitting tight for the award advance since i acquire $23,000 every 12 days of my investment…

  2. Not true bill has around $5 billion worth of apple shares and $25 billion microsoft shares. The largest stake at Microsoft is of steve Balmer who has 4% stake at Microsoft whereas bill has around 1.3% stake at Microsoft

  3. He would be worth 693 billion dollars if he kept his Microsoft holding
But diversification makes his stocks easy to sell

  4. Informational video but you never explained why he has more money invested into Apple than Microsoft.
    The title is misleading.

  5. Even with the economic fluctuation, I am very excited to have earned $25,000 on my $5,000 every 10 days

  6. What % of the company stock supply does he own of apple and microsoft? He might own more of the microsoft but due to the market value the apple one is valued more… for you that do this videos and don’t do this question. Shame on you. Wake up people dont leave them asleep

  7. Yoooo why does he have so much money?? Just from starting Microsoft wtf man. Something is wrong here.

  8. The REAL answer why Bill bought Apple stock is because Microsoft would have been a monopoly and that’s not allowed.. So bill saw Apple as a worthy rival in the field of Personal Computing and the rest is history.

Why isn’t this mentioned in the video?

  9. Well, Bill Gates is Steve Job’s friend. Wouldn’t you invest in your friends company, even if you’re both rivals?

  10. ….And he want's everyone to eat bugs…… KILL HIM!!!! lol

  11. This isn’t accurate. If Berkshire’s Apple holding is estimated at $150 billion, Bill’s 4 percent would be $6 billion. Bills 4% holding of ALL of Berkshire at todays $610 billion market cap would still be around $25 billion. Oh and Apple is nearly half of Berkshire’s equity portfolio, not half of the whole company.

  12. Actually, Apple only makes up roughly 20% of Berkshire Hathaways’s AUM.

  13. His microsoft stake would have been worth $900b If he didn't sold and reinvested in other cos
