タレントの福田萌（３２）が１６日、都内で行われた「日・台保育交流イベント」に出席した。
日本と台湾の保育の発展と交流を願い開催。台湾好きで知られ、２児の母である萌が１日保育親善大使に任命された。
現在、４歳の娘と０歳８か月の息子がいる萌は「（子育てで）ほとんど眠る時間がない状況なんですけれども、本当に子どもたちがかわいくって、いつも笑顔に癒されています」と笑顔で語り、「１秒たりとも見逃したくないので、ついスマホでムービーを撮って記録してしまいます」と母の顔をのぞかせた。
また岩手県の実家は保育園をやっているそうで、「小さいころから保育士さんの姿を見ていて、子どもたちと関わっている姿がすごく素敵だなと思っていた」と回想。自身に子どもが生まれると尊敬の思いはさらに強まったようで、「（保育士さんは）時にはアドバイスをくれることもありますし、子どもたちを大切に育てていてくれていることにも、あらためて尊敬するお仕事だなと思っております」と話した。
今回のイベントで少子化や待機児童など日本と台湾が同じ問題を抱えているということを知ったという萌は「日本と台湾がますます仲が深まって子どもたちを温かく守る社会にお互いなっていければ」と呼びかけた。
