The internet destroyed local and regional newspapers (Facebook took over) which had professional reporting of our communities, our public boards, and it shown a light on our crooks and charlatans. It brought in Amazon, which destroyed what was left of our local small retailers and the charm of our cities. It ushered in social media lies and Donald Trump, and we lost our privacy, our identity. Now we can’t tell fact from fiction in words and visuals sprayed around the world through the internet. Would that it could have stayed as simple as viewing a ball game whenever we wanted to.
