【神の倉の津波石】気仙沼

気仙沼市唐桑町神の倉の津波石です。どうぞご覧ください。

「入り江を塞ぐ岩石は，2011年3月11日の津波によって打ち上げられたことから『津波石』と呼ばれています。白っぽく見える石の表面には貝や藻が付着しており，海底にあったことがわかります。直径1メートル以上の石が5個，大きなものは直径約5メートル，重さは推定150トンもあり，津波の持つエネルギーの大きさを物語っています。
These rocks named “Tsunamiishi”,were carried into the inlet by the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11,2011.
The white surface of the rocks are the remnants of shellfish and the algae, which are indicated that the rocks had once laid on the bottom of the sea.
There are five rocks in total, and they are each 1 meter in diameter. The biggest one reaches about 5 meters in diameter and weights around 150 tons, which are a proof of the incredible energy by the tsunami.」
