The judges in Beijing Figure skating competition shouldn’t play favoritism to such extent! While we fans are watching and cheering for the skaters, we can’t help but already feeling disappointed at the unfair judging of certain skaters! In the Women Short Program, Wakaba Higuchi had a near perfect routine with one of the most difficult program layout technically. She became the 5th woman to land triple Axel in the Olympics. However, she was picked up for the under-rotation calls and wrong edges despite many other skaters having the same issues. In this video, we do a side-by-side comparison of her jumps vs other skaters.

Again, why this issue keeps on happening? With doping scandal and all, we thought judges will be more careful not to overscore or underscore skaters now that figure skating is under scrutiny of the entire world. Favoritism? Conspiracy? Corrupted? Body shamming? They just don’t like Japanese figure skater?
We want the judges to know that we, the fans care. While we are cheering for all the skaters, we just want everyone to be judged on the same lens, same scale.
