Hello Guys and Gals!
It’s your boy Spud here with another music review for you! Today we will be reviewing Koda Kumi’s (倖田來未) latest single, “Cutie Honey: Best ~2000 – 2020 ver.” (キューティーハニー), which is re-released jazz version of the song that was heard during her 2007 Black Cherry Concert.
“Cutie Honey: Best ~2000 – 2020 ver.” was released on October 25th, 2021.
The original Cutie Honey was released way back in 2005, and I never knew there was a “Jazz” version of this song until this single was released.
Koda Kumi was one of the hottest singers back in the mid to late 2000’s, with her suggestive and controversial songs and music videos. Despite going against the norm of Japanese society, she had a huge following around Japan, and even inspired some “sexy” fashion trends.
This single, is more a less a remastered version of what have the “jazz” version of Cutie Honey, but for me and many others, it’s our first time being exposed to this version, so I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on this song.
Ya’ll already know what it is! LET’S DIVE ON IN!
