［シドニー １１日 ロイター］ – オーストラリア政府は１１日、同国で開催しているサッカー女子アジア・カップに参加しているイランの選手が国歌斉唱を拒否し、帰国後の身柄が懸念されていた問題で、前日の５人に加え、新たに２人に人道目的のビザ（査証）を発給した。ただ２人のうちの１人は翻意し帰国を決めた。
イラン人選手とチーム関係者計２人をオーストラリア警察がイラン女子サッカー代表団のさらに２人のメンバーが監視役を振り切って亡命申請するのを支援したが、うち１人は考えを変えイランに戻ることを決めたと、同国内相が水曜日に発表した。
バーク内相は議会で、２人は５人の選手に亡命が認められたことを受け、１０日夜に政府の支援の申し出を受け入れたがうち１人が「出国したチームメイト数人と話し、考えを変えた」と述べた。「オーストラリアでは、人は考えを変えることも、移動することもできる。したがって、彼女がその決断を下した背景をわれわれは尊重する」と述べた。
