［ダボス（スイス）２１日　ロイター］ – トランプ米大統領は２１日に世界経済フォーラム年次総会（ダボス会議）で行った演説で「カナダは米国に感謝すべきだ」と述べ、同氏に先立ち、国際ルールに基づく秩序の「断絶」を指摘したカーニー・カナダ首相に反論した。

「カナダはわれわれに感謝すべきだ。カナダが存在しているのは米国のおかげだ。マーク（カーニー首相）、次発言するときはそのことを覚えておいてくれ」と述べた。

トランプ氏はかねてカナダは米国の５１番目の州になるべきとの考えを示し、関税措置などで経済的圧力をかけている。

カーニー氏は特別演説で、「われわれは今、移行期ではなく、断絶期にある」と述べ、「大国」が経済統合を武器とし、関税をテコとしていると、トランプ氏や米国を直接名指しせず指摘した。

「古い秩序はもう戻ってこない。それを嘆いてはいけない。ノスタルジーは戦略ではない」と述べ、志を同じくする国々と新たな同盟関係の構築を目指す考えを示した。
