［ワシントン １２日 ロイター］ – トランプ米大統領は１２日、連邦政府機関の一部閉鎖を終わらせるための暫定財源を確保する「つなぎ予算案」に署名した。
この日で４３日目に入り過去最長となった政府機関の閉鎖がようやく終了する。
議会下院は約２時間前、つなぎ予算案を２２２対２０９の賛成多数で可決。同法案は上院をすでに通過していた。
連邦政府職員は早ければ１３日にも職場復帰する見込みだが、政府のサービスと業務全体がどの程度の速さで完全に再開するかは不透明だ。
数日中には、経済指標の発表も再開される見通し。ただ、一部の指標は永久に公表されない可能性が高く、ホワイトハウスは１０月分の雇用統計と消費者物価指数（ＣＰＩ）の公表が見送られるかもしれないと述べている。
つなぎ予算案は来年１月３０日まで政府機関への資金を現行レベルで回復する内容。これにより、議会は今年度（来年９月末まで）の歳出法案の作成を完了するための時間を得る。
農務省、食品医薬品局（ＦＤＡ）、退役軍人省、軍事建設プロジェクト、議会については通年の予算が盛り込まれた。
政権による連邦職員の大量解雇を１月３０日まで禁じる内容も盛り込んだ。
また、議会が今年度に再び政府機関を閉鎖した場合でも、低所得者向け食料購入補助「フードスタンプ」（ＳＮＡＰ）が中断なく継続されることを保証する内容を盛った。
多くのエコノミストの推定では、政府機関の閉鎖中、国内総生産（ＧＤＰ）が毎週０．１％ポイント以上押し下げられたが、失われた生産高のほとんどは今後数カ月で取り戻されると予想されている。
