[ブラジリア ２７日 ロイター] – ブラジルのボルソナロ前大統領の弁護団は２７日、クーデター計画などの罪で禁錮２７年余りを言い渡した最高裁判決を不服として異議を申し立てた。刑期の長さなどに疑問を呈した。
最高裁は先月、武装化した犯罪組織への関与やクーデターなど５つの罪でボルソナロ氏に有罪判決を下した。判事５人のうち４人が有罪に投票した。
通常、少なくとも２人の判事が反対していなければ、被告側が判決を大きく覆す可能性のある上訴を請求することはできない。反対した判事は１人だけだったため、ボルソナロ氏の弁護団は有罪判決の特定部分について説明の明確化や見直しを求める、より軽度の申し立てを行った。
ボルソナロ氏はトランプ米大統領による裁判介入を求めたとして、８月から自宅軟禁を命じられている。ボルソナロ氏と近いトランプ氏は有罪判決への制裁としてブラジル製品への輸入関税を５０％に引き上げるなどした。
