[マドリッド １５日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）欧州委員会とスペイン政府は１５日、スペインに対する関税引き上げの可能性を示唆したトランプ米大統領の警告を一蹴した。
トランプ氏は、北大西洋条約機構（ＮＡＴＯ）に加盟するスペインが防衛費を国内総生産（ＧＤＰ）比５％まで引き上げることを拒んでいるとして不満を示している。 もっと見る
欧州委員会の報道官は会見で、貿易政策はＥＵの管轄だとし「加盟国に講じられる措置には、通常通り、適切に対応する」と発言。ＥＵと米国が７月に署名した貿易合意が、問題に対処する上で適切な土台になると述べた。
スペイン経済・通商省は声明で「防衛費を巡る議論は、支出を増やすことが目的ではなく、現実の脅威に対応することが目的だ」とし「われわれは必要な能力を開発し、同盟国の集団防衛に貢献するため、役割を果たしている」と述べた。
スペインのサンチェス首相はこれまで防衛費をＧＤＰ比２．１％に引き上げるのが「十分かつ現実的」と表明し、ＮＡＴＯ加盟国で唯一５％への引き上げを約束していない。
